You keep lovin' that bad gangsta fool who LIED about how many times he was shot and who REALLY is in the closet! (well, if you don't count the numerous reports of him liking the boys best...) I'm not sure why you have to be "over" Prince. No one say you have to like him as a person or prefer his post-1994 out put. But, why not just keep him at arms length while you concentrate your musical passion somwhere else. He may put out some music you like, whether it be just a song or a whole album. Why give up completely? It doesn't have to be an either or proposition.
I don't like him as much musically or personally as I once did, but I still want to know what he's doing and still hope for music that really wows me.

He admires a thug who puts out complicated compositions and meaningful music, not someone who has done such horrible things like Prince.

Number 3 straight cracked me the fuck up.
Prince is one of the least gay dudes I ever seen in my life. Marrying bimbo's to prove he ain't gay, that what you trying to say? Man, you got me rolling on the floor straight laughing my fucking ass off. Mayte never came across a bimbo to me, and bimbo is the last word in the world I would use to describe Manuela - she is a highly intelligent woman. You have got to be kidding me, man. You need to look of the definition of the term "bimbo" if that's what you think Mani is. |

Why? 1. He hasn't had any real hits since 1994 2. His loudmouthed hypocritical views on religion 3. His basic denial of coming out (Marrying bimboes) 4. His music has become self indulgent 5. Hes lost touch with the people of today (I mean this is a guy who will pray and spout the words of jehovah, yet he sings songs about graphic sexual intercourse) 6. He treats his fans, associates and family like shit. Oh sure lynch me and all, but I am sorry Prince I am now an ex fan I completely understand your decision, being a Prince fan has been a frustrating experience over the last decade. But, as has been mentioned, your reasons just don't make sense. No hits since '94 - You judge a musician on "hits"? I guess that makes Britney Spears a musical genius. Chart success depends on how much money a record company puts into marketing the formulaic slop it pumps out, it has nothing to do with musical merit whatsoever. Hypocritical views on religion - Religion and hypocrisy are inseparable. Religion is hypocrisy with stained glass windows. I've yet to meet a reigious person who wasn't a hypocrite to some extent. Denying coming out - I don't even knows what that means. His music has become self indulgent - I'd say tha opposite is the case. He's become far too focussed on current trends and on trying to recreate his past successes. I wish he would return to the self indulgence of the 80s and early 90s andjust make music to please himself. Lost touch with the people of today - I wish it were true. The people of today suck....I'd pay to lose touch with them. He treats his fans, associates and family like shit - I have a friend who refuses to listen to music made by anyone who treats other people like shit. He's just made it into the guiness book of records for possessing the world's smallest CD collection.

Congratulations or yeah we hate him too??? As if they need some sort of comforting.....I mean.....who gives a fuck??? I mean, I happy he/she is in a better place now, but...um....so what now? all Prince is good Prince in my mind (compared to some of the junk on the charts t'day). even tho I agree with you that some of those things he's done are too much, i know my chances of meeting him are pretty slim, so it's not my place to judge him too critically outside of being a musician. and he's still a badass musician.

Why? Oh sure lynch me and all, but I am sorry Prince I am now an ex fan I'm not going 2 lynch u, but I don't seem 2 understand ur reasoning 4 not being a fan anymore. 1. If u ask me, Prince had a long run of hits....more than ur average musician. Starting in 1979 to 1994 (the mainstream years). That alone is more than most musicians/artists/singers accomplish in a lifetime. It's like someone saying that they aren't a Stones fany or a Whitney Houston fan because they haven't had a hit in years. Come on, people like the STones, Led Zepplin, The Doors, etc. are people who have had LONG careers and people still love them today. Many bands like this haven't had a "hit" in 20 years. Give me a break. That sounds more like a "cop-out" 2 me. 2. To me, Prince doesn't preach religion. I've heard him say things that he "believes" or that are "truth", but never have I heard him say that he is preaching religion. Many people say TRC is a Jehova Witness sermon, but I don't c it that way. Since his career took off, Prince has always spoken of God and spirituality in his music (Let's Go Crazy is the ultimate). From what I have learned over my 35 years of life, when people are confronted with something that they fear or not familiar with, then they start 2 rebel. 2 each his own on this. 3. No one knows about his private life. We can only speculate. His marriages are not our business. Usually when marriages fail, both parties are 2 blame. As 4 the homo comment, I don't know why u would call a man that had a stage setup like a woman's vagina (The Gold Experience stage inside of the cd cover) a homo. Besides, he is NEVER photographed with another man unless it is in a working environment. Give it up! 4. Prince's music has ALWAYS been self indulgent. Why should he please anyone else but himself? 5. How has he lost touch with people of today? Everytime he speaks, he tries 2 educate people on his view of the way the world is heading. He tries 2 help...not hinder. If u listened closely 2 the lyrics of his music (especially after 1994), his lyrics are about commitment and sensuality NOT just SEX. (R. Kelly & Akon's lyrics are strictly about sex). 6. As for his associates, I don't know how he treats them, but 4 fans, he seems 2 try (at times) 2 treat us with respect. Sure, some people have gotten hurt (Crystal Ball fiasco), ALL of us have lost our licenses, etc, but I'm sure a lot of that was due 2 the people that he hired and not him (directly). Come on, do u really think Prince can run everything himself? I'm sure that P will not be affected by ur decision. There have been others that claim 2 not b fans anymore, but when a new project drops, they are the 1st ones 2 buy it and run 2 the shows. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
