But in reality, moonwalking was already around way before Michael did it. New York breakdancers was doing it for a couple of years now by then. Anybody remembers Turbo. Who Michael admitted himself in the book Moonwalk that Turbo influenced him to do it. So if anybody reading this who's in the press media give credit where credit is due. Michael didn't invent the moonwalk! As for Prince being at M25 that's highly unlikely.
Man I wish I knew the name of this movie and the guy was in it but there was this black guy in a movie (I would say from the 1940's), well he did the moonwalk in it. About 40 years before the breakdancers |

Prince wasn't at the Motown 25. The film footage of Prince clapping after a Michael Jackson performance, is from the 1988 Grammy Awards where Michael Jackson performed The Way You Make Me Feel and Man In The Mirror.
Michael Jackson said in his 1988 autobiography that he didn't invent the Moonwalk. Also it's always been well known that Jeffery Danial taught Michael how to Moonwalk. What Michael Jackson gave the Moonwalk was an extra touch of magic that it never had before. Also some that Michael Jackson isn't given credit for is being one of the first people to do street moves like the Robot on television. Michael Jackson did the Robot while performing Dancing Machine on Soul Train in 1974, almost a dacade before break dancing etc was a craze, and way before the like of Jeffery Danial's were on the scene. | |

Interesting, being that P had nothing to do with Motown. Not saying he wasn't a fan cuz who wasn't? I can see P going by an invite. Hell, maybe Michael himself invited him. Where did hear this from? I saw the performance when it aired with a billion other folks. I also have it on tape. I don't recall seeing P's little ass anywhere in the audience, let alone him sitting with his arms crossed. I hope to GOD that he didn't do that. That shit would have made him look like some little sissy ass jealous trick. I have watched the "Motown 25" tape probably a hundred times over the years. I never saw Prince in the audience. The only time that I saw Prince in an audience where Michael was performing was at the Grammys. That was the night that MJ did another memorable performance. He sang ""Man In THe Mirror" and "The Way You Make Me Feel." EVERYONE in the audience gave Michael a standing ovation; however, Prince just sat there and didn't clap at all. I don't think that his arms were crossed(they could have been). I remember thinking how rude and childish it was for him not to applaud.It really made him look bad, because everyone was talking about it the next day. | |
