In my opinion Per Nilsen had dogged Appolonia CD and so did a couple of other writers calling it kind of lame just because Manic Monday & The Glamorus Life taken off. That is rediculous..

Some Kind Of Lover i think being one of the best songs he's ever written for another artist(s) well...along with When A Girl Answers...(credit along w/ Jimmy & Terry)

The Vanity 6 album is alot of fun,with crazy,sexy songs that are hilarious,catchy and danceable.

The Apollonia 6 album,on the other hand,sounds messy and a little unfocused.The only gems on this album are "Sex Shooter" and "Blue Limousine".The other songs are okay but nothing to write home about.It seems like Prince didn't know what direction to take these girls in,with Vanity out of the picture.Or maybe he was just too busy with the movie to really spend alot of time on them.

'Vibrator' is probably the funniest frickin' song i ever heard.

Listen Vibrator is a funny and quite a Nasty song ,but it's not on the album only an outtake. In my opinion the Vanity 6 album was so much better than the Appolonia 6 album. I do think Prince should have let Appolonia "Patty Kotero" sing Manic Monday and Glamourous Life . It would Definitely have helped that album. But Shelia E did a Wonderful version of the Glamourous Life. And the Bangles did a Wonderful version of Manic Monday. Whatever the case Appolonia contends that Prince took Glamourous Life away from her and didn't care about the Appolonia 6 project. Of course he didn't and you know why? Well she was just a replacement for Vanity who had left him in a bind with another album in contract to Warners and a movie when she uped and left for MOTOWN and Berry Gordy and her DREAMS of Being the Next Black Female Artist alla Diana Ross. She followed her Dream and it had no room for Prince. Vanity saw herself as a Big Star alla Diana Ross for Motown. After she flunked out with Hollywood and got ill she became religious . Couldn't she just have stayed Vanity or was it just a thing she no longer wanted Hollywood? She was the Best. So many people loved her as Vanity.

Vanity was into playing the Nasty Girl role before she got together with Prince. She was one of Rick James' girls and I think she was doing some soft core porn modeling/acting under the name Dee Dee Winters.

Prince really didn't invent the idea of the trashy girl group. Rick James and George Clinton had their girl groups before Prince did. Prince didn't invent trashy girl groups, but he definitely helped to push them into the mainstream.
