UTCM came on last night. Though I had to go to bed & couldn't watch the whole thing, I noticed some things I hadn't before. So I have some questions:

• When Ms. Wellington sees Christopher for the first time @ the piano bar, is she NOT distracted by that beaded thing on his head?
  
  
• After Christopher beds Ms. W for the first time, she wakes up alone & he's in the grotto (nice ass shot, btw). He's writing a note: "Life is a parade!" blah, blah, blah - WHO the hell is that note for?
  
  
• They're in France - wouldn't it have been interesting for Mary to be some kickass French woman?
  
  
• The 3 catty extras @ Mary's party (1 man, 2 women) pop up 2 or 3 more times in the film - is Nice really that small???
  
  
• Did ANYONE think Planet Rock sounded good being sung w/ an British accent?
  
  
• Is it wrong that I STILL want the dress Mary wore @ her party???
  
  
• Couldn't they have let Jerome grow his hair out for another 2 months so his waves could be as tight as Chrissy's???
  
  
• Who spent more time in the makeup chair - Mary or Christopher?
  
  
• On a serious note: the score was fantastic. WHEN will P do another?

This is my favourite prince movie, back when i was 16 i kinda liked Mrs Wellington myself!

if you know what i mean.

This movie is the Ultimate for sure. How about the part when Christopher has Flashbacks and that old black woman goes Christopher When will I see you Again? Almost like a Spirit or Ghost? And I'll never forget the Kerchef on Prince's head. Man he could come Play in the Sunshine and Vacuum my rugs any day. What a Fox. Hunk Patrol.

but there is plenty to enjoy, especially the scene with the ladder and Mary's Mom.now that was hilarious.

heres another observation:
i havent watched it for a while but when Prince is either driving to the airport or back from it
the car seems to be travelling really fast,Prince runs his right hand through his hair and down the back of his head.
Dont say that i am the only person to have noticed that that scene has been sped up to give the impression that he is driving at kick ass speeds.
He must have had to do the hand manouvre really slowly,interesting huh?

The whole car scene w/ Mary (the Kiss part) has some friggin' great shots. I really like some of the choices he made - as HIGHLY questionable as that movie is, he made some kickass decisions @ times. Wonder how much influence his camera man had on him? I'd love to know...

God that movie was Great. Funny as Hell and his ass never looked better. I think Jerome was great also and remember him giving Katie the Bela Lugouis look and then fooling around in the elevator? And how about when Katie goes to Jerome Stupid and she's like kicking him or hitting him and He's going It's a Full Moon, I'm a Warewolf,Bitch Kiss my ass? And what about when Prince catches up with Mary at the airport and tells her I Love you and he sits in the back seat with his black Wayfarers and goes I love you and she goes I hate U. Did anybody ever think about the song I Hate U? Now wouldn't that kinda be like what was going on here with the Dialog between him and Mary? I Love you,I Hate U? And what a Monster Isaac Sharon was he shoots Christopher for what Loving his Daughter? Bittersweet ,Romantic Comedy.

I so wanted that dress and tiara mary had on in the "wrecka stow" scene. God, I loved that outfit, I still do. I had dreams of wearing something like that to my high school prom, but of course, it never happened.

In DMSR they documented some of the stuff you were talking about. I think I remember that Prince did want Madonna for UTCM, but she declined and that the ending of the movie was going to be quite different than it is today. Something to do with an ambulance.

A lot of things changed, as well as the set list for the sound track.

UTCM is my fav as you can see. Jerome was at his best in this film and Prince was just divine.

BTW: has any1 noticed when he does Girls and Boys on the piano that they reverse the scene when he takes off his jacket? I always love to watch that part.

Does anyone know how much was really shot in Nice? I don't know France too well, but a lot of shots look like Cannes to me. Maybe they look similar to one another (I've only been to the airport in Nice, lol)...

I think it was filmed in Nice. and a number of Riveara locations. I love the south of France. beeeaaautttifull

I only say Nice b/c there's an establishing shot in the film focusing on a building that brands "Nice" prominently. Maybe he was just going w/ the idea of Nice but didn't necessarily shoot there, I dunno...
