i got some outtakes and didn't know the story behind (year of recording etc). can you help me:

- moonbeam levels (I heard it before in a very bad quality maybe 20 years ago with the titel "a better place to die", good song)
- splash (boring)
- 1000 hugs & kisses (I dont' like it)
- jukebox of wild (funky)
- madrid 2 chicago (great song!)

Moonbeam Levels Unreleased

Often titled "A Better Place 2 Die" by bootleggers, this classic was recorded towards the end of the 1999 sessions. Prince played a brief part on tour in Los Angeles, March 28th, 1983. It's an excellent melodic mid-tempo rock number focusing on piano in the versus with a guitar giving the chorus added punch, similar to "Free." The musical resemblance to "Free" may be one of the reasons it was left off 1999. The lyrics dwell on imminent nuclear war destruction and looking for "a better place to die."

- 1000 hugs & kisses (I dont' like it) unreleased

A 1,000 Hugs And Kisses" was recorded with Rosie Gaines and parts of The NPG at Olympic Studios in London, June 1992, on the Diamonds And Pearls tour. The track was shortlisted for the MPLS project and it was later tried out in 1993 by Nona Gaye, which is the circulating version. The song is a restrained and seductive soul number. The arrangement features a rhythm guitar to the fore. An attractive horn riff adorns the chorus and a saxophone solo enters towards the end of the song. Gaye is longing for her lover to come home, offering him a thousand hugs and kisses upon his return, "Lock the door, you better unplug the phone, cause I want to give you a thousand reasons why we need to be alone."


Splash internet release

A sample of "Splash" was posted on www.npgonlineltd.com's "The Vault" page in May 2000. The full version was made available as a MP3 download on Mar. 22, 2001 on NPGMC. The song was recorded in August 1985, when Prince also taped songs like "Empty Room", "Sexual Suicide", and "Go". At the time, Parade was essentially completed although Prince added "Mountains" and "Anotherloverholenyohead," recorded in November and December 1985. "Splash" was sent to Clare Fischer for his input in July 1986, but it was never placed on any configurations of Prince's 1986 projects: Dream Factory, Crystal Ball, and Camille. The song is a reasonably strong pop/rock number sung in a falsetto vocal by Prince. The verses have an unusual, reggae-ish rhythm. The chorus is very effective and lifts the song considerably. Fischer's strings are very evident throughout. The track appears to be a live recording with parts of The Revolution, including Wendy and Lisa. The lyrics have Prince singing the praises of his lover, who fulfills his every fantasy. "Splash" was mentioned as a possible track for the aborted Roadhouse Garden album in 1999.


Madrid 2 Chicago Internet song

A sample of "Madrid 2 Chicago" was made available on the Love 4 One Another web site along with "U're Still The One" on January 26, 1999. The full version wasn't available until the 12th edition of the NPGMC in January 2002. According to the Music Club the track was going to be included on an album entitled Madrid 2 Chicago. The title refers to Prince's flight to see Mayte after she moved to Spain. "Madrid 2 Chicago" is a gentle, subdued and somewhat mellow soul number, starting off with a slow, intricate drum machine pattern. The arrangement is very sparse, focusing on the drums and some synth touches. Prince is longing for his woman, "I got you on my mind, you on my mind, nothing but you on my mind."

Jukebox With A Heartbeat Internet

"Jukebox With A Heartbeat" is a playful pop number that sounds like it could have been written during the High sessions. Featuring an infectious chorus and drum-machine, Prince explains that he's not trying to play what's expected to be popular in New York or LA, but rather be true to himself and the Twin Cites music scene. The song was released as part of the November, 2001 "ahdio show" on the New Power Generation Music Club.

do you mean Jukebox With A Heartbeat? don't know when this one's from. sounds like either NPS or High era, but i don't think there's any info available about it.

This website is a resource for fans, you could say 'google it' for pretty much any question asked, but that's not the point.

I've recently been downloading portions of Revelations- (my god the work that must have went into putting that together- great job whoever you are!), anyway mostly (so far) it's things I've at least heard of before, but one track is titled "When Doves Scream". I can't seem to find info on that anywhere, and I did a quick look through Turn it Up 2.0 as well.
What is that, where did it come from???

That collection is massive, any recommendations on which volumes/parts to aim for? Is there a complete listing/index of what's on that collection posted anywhere? Can't seem to locate one....
