FYI Hotel Roosevelt discriminates against "little people"

I've been to the roosevelt many times, to the lobby bar, the tropicana bar as well as teddy's..

Never encountered any problems to get in whatsoever until tonight..

Tonight a group of friends and myself decided to go to teddy's around 10:30 pm, after going to forty deuce anniversary party, thinking we could chill there for a while till last call...

Interestingly enough when we got to the door, the door lady was ready to let us in until she saw our friend Mikey Post. He's a 3'2" actor, has been in numerous commercial and films.. Only he's a little person no matter what his credentials are...

In anycase the door lady refused to let him in solely based on the fact that he was a "little person" and obviously wasn't cool enough to hang out at the roosevelt...

I feel so sick right now...

What would prince say about that...

Just a randomn rant...

That's why Prince is saying there; they wouldn't let him in every night unless he lived there. razz

This is sick.
In terms of height I am the contrary, I am very tall as soon as you are not in the "norm" people act funny. Your friend should be proud of who he is no matter what, he is special in his own way.
If someone made a nasty comment on my physical appearance I would fight back that's for sure.
Peace biggrin

I am sure it is, it sounds to me as pure discrimination.
If it was about colour it would be racism, this person rejected your friend because he is short this is the same! this is as stupid as rejecting someone because they don't look the same as the stupid "norm" ooooouuuhhh I am fuming confused

confuse Are we not being told enough details of the incident? The only logical reason to turn your friend away is if he did not have sufficient I.D.to enter!

hmmm I can't imagine this door lady to openly invite a lawsuit due to blatant prejudice!

I'm 4'10" and never have problems with admission to events.
If I did, I'd request to speak with the manager, or whomever is in charge. See what their written policy is on height discrimination.

Teddy's is a private club, so they can turn down whomever they want, I was pointing out the fact that we've been there many times without a problem until last night...

The lady was going to let us in UNTIL she saw Mikey

and take a ruler 3'2" is very little, almost knee height...

it's sad they would act like that.. that's all...

That's true. There's still a few "men only" clubs around the country.
Most bars have a sign that states "we can decline service to anybody."
Rather than speculate, why don't you call the place, ask to speak to a manager and ask why, based on your experience, you were turned away?

I'd call, but you have first hand experience with the matter, and can answer questions that may arise.....

Perhaps we should ALL call and ask what the height limit is for entry to the club!! ha.

that can't do that...i know someone said they can choose whoever they want, but it's almost like choosing only people of a certain race...

dont be sick now, this site is crawling with heightism and i dont understand how we allow it. as a short male, prince came along at a time where my confidence could have been ruined (high school) yet because of him i was desirable. girls threw away the natural selection bullshit and saw me for what i was ( and still am) seexaaay LOL. yet when i come here to talk about the greatest artist ever there's always somebody commenting on his height. when writers refer to him they have to say pint sized yet i never see Bono's physical stature attatched to a story regarding his charity work. This shit is the last bastion of discrimination, dont believe me?. You used to be able to call a man a nigger on the street at high noon 50 years ago, 30 years ago you could use the word fag anywhere you damn well please but because of enlightenment that is no longer the case. Yet, in 2007 the greatest living artist in the history of recorded music is still "diminutive" LOL. i'm not surprised by what happend 2 mikey and sadly i'm not surprised by some of the things that are said about prince ( and short men) right here on this site.
