That "Little Red Corvette" remix is the shit!!! Hell yeah! I'm jamming to this funky groove right now. It's just so amazing how Prince blended sexy and soulful vocals with hard rockin' guitars, cold New Wave synths, and a dense, funky ass beat you can jam to! This song alone is proof of the man's genius!

Definately. I've always refered to this as the "black version" of the song. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Definately. I've always refered to this as the "black version" of the song. Yes, I love the remix so much that I rarely listen to the album version. Your comment is interesting because when I heard that funky bass on the remix, I thought that the song might not have had the same crossover appeal. I think the album version had crossover hit written all over it, so they went with that one as the "official" version. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

It's all in the bass line. The bass line is much funkier in the remix version. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

There are soooo many long jams on 1999, it seems a shame that they didn't include this one. At least it's available on CD though!
The album version is perfect, no doubt about that. The remix is just more of a good thing IMO . . .

Definately. I've always refered to this as the "black version" of the song. That's exactly the way I remember it since the black stations are the only ones that played it. . . [Edited 5/23/07 18:00pm] Andy is a four letter word.

I really dig this too. The funky ass bass he kicks in towards the end is awesome. It really changes the song's vibe like you guys have said.

It's on the "Ultimate Prince" CD. I'm guessing it's in stores.

It's available on iTunes, as is the entire "Ultimate" album with lots of other extended remixes. I'd reccomend Raspberry Beret, U Got the Look, and She's Always in my Hair for starters.

Eh. It's ok. The album version is better, I think. That "MayDay" shit is dumb as fuck.
Now, the "Let's Go Crazy"...that's essential.
