Here I am in a self-taken photograph – Prince glasses while driving!

Ah yes… the famous Prince glasses…

I remember first seeing them in the movie Purple Rain. He wore them when he was standing behind Appollonia, glancing at the message board for her name, then disappearing. Heh, heh.

I thought they were bizarre, but I also thought they were cool. I wanted a pair! I had everything else Prince… alas, it was not to be. I don’t remember them being terribly popular, unlike the rest of his wardrobe. I don’t remember throngs of people wearing these, but I do remember all the lace being worn, all the ruffled shirts, all the men wearing makeup, etc… (I was one of them!)

Recently, I found these on Ebay… I ordered a pair for nostalgic reasons, plus – yes, I’m still collecting all things Prince when something cool pops up. I paid the winning bid amount for the pair. They screwed up in shipping them to me – they sent me two pairs!

On the inside frame, it says “Prince Brand” – very cool.

So – anyone else have any Prince mirror sunglasses?

I have visions of cars driving the other way, blinded by the reflection of their headlights in your new specs.

i ordered a pair of those from the back of rolling stone magazine back when i was 15. i dropped them on the lawn one day and my grandma accidentally ran them over with her riding mower. woe.

They look a little big, his seemed like small little circles. Maybe it's the self portrait while driving that makes 'em look big?

Everytime I see Purple rain again when Prince stands there in those glasses I just crack up!

either the glasses are huge or Prince

My Jr/Sr years of highschool I looked everywhere I went for those babies and never found a pair. I still look for them. I'd probably buy them if I ever saw them at a decent price. Don't know if I'd wear them now, but I'd still love to have a pair!

Thanks... I think it's the name "June"... people think it's a girls name, it's actually the month I was born in, followed by the day (same as Prince's).

ooooo, i used to wear those in high school LOL, used to have the curly bang fall over one eye.the woman i would eventually marry and have children with would look back at me and say "your so stupid". now my daughter is 18 and she looks back on those pics and say's dad you look stupid.

Same here, I lived in a small town and started wearing a pair like that. No one liked them and they gave me hell. haha I still like 'em to this day.
