I've heard the song about 7 times and it never fails to make me smile. While part of me wonders if its him just running at the mouth, I consider it one of his most honest songs.
He pretty much speaks everything that's on his mind (a great % is his ego), not caring what anyone thinks. And he just "lays the cards on the table", saying "this is what I'm all about." At least when it comes to his bad-boy side.

My favorite portion is his conversation with God about "needing to want it for the right reasons" and such. It makes me laugh even though he seems to be screaming in pain & sorrow (but then again, who knows how much of it is acting?)
That's the most honest part of the song. He realizes that its his biggest problem and coming to that realization means that he's growing up and some things are just more important.

I'm getting off topic here, but I really dig the song. I love the ATWIAD album, but its definitely in my top 3. Are there any other Prince songs (or albums) u think I'd enjoy cuz I think Temptation is
