Rumour has it when Prince does his stint in London there will be no aftershows, or special suprise after-gig parties. He has signed a binding contract with O2 that he will exclusively perform at the O2 arena only when in London/UK.

The only reason he was able to perform at Koko was that the recent trip to London fell outside of any contract with 0" and was promotional!!!

I thought Prince didn't sign contracts?

Any comments or other people know of this detail re Loomdom trip?

I have a clue - I work with artist contract all day long, and Prince is well known for his reluctance to sign contracts. And as for where I heard it, I work closely to those in the record business, and the inside info is he is tied exclusively to O2 venues.

I, of course, hope I am wrong - and that he does indeed do gigs here there and everywhere, but this is what I have heard, and was asking if anyone knew anything to the contrary - so no insults please.

j/k but the Bay Area hasn't had an aftershow in YEARS, at least you guys are getting him for 2 weeks straight. I wish he'd do an extended stay in SF

hmmmm, seems suspect to me. I would have thought he'd have a clause covering after concert gigs - if the O2 do not have a suitable venue to provide the man to play at 1am, they can't surely stop him from performing in a small club to a few hundred people somewhere if he takes a fancy? Now, I'd understand O2 getting upset if he suddenly did a standard schedule gig at wembley INSTEAD of an o2 venue.

May very well be true. However, all is not lost. I think people fail to realise exactly how big this complex is, it has several substantial clubs bars and all under its roof. Nothing to stop him playing them at all.

Besides, it would be strange to limit him doing aftershows.. i mean, press reports of these would serve as promotion for his concerts.

there is no way prince would agree to this... for someone to turn around and say he cant perform somewhere would just crush everything he believes in.. hence i think this story is bs.
