Okay: just what the fuck is up with all this "3121" bullshit?

I mean, the album came out like a year ago or somethin', right? Has nobody asked this little fucker what "3121" alludes to?

Since everything in PrinceWorld is now priced at $31.21 rolleyes, I say we have a right to know! stab

shrug I don't know where 3121 came from, but I think we need to move on from this 3121 era already. I'm really tired of it. neutral

That's different. The music was better. I got tired of 3121 quickly, while I still listen to that NPG stuff. neutral

This is what I found:

Go to page 11....3121 is mentioned all over the place. Who knows, this is just my opinion.

LOL dayummm man, I was drinking some OJ and read this thread title, and spit that shit out!! This exact same phrase goes through my head everytime I see something regarding Prince and 3121...

I sure as hell don't know wtf it means. What's even more fucked up is how those random numbers, at least random to us, has started to look and sound cool...

little this, pint sized that, diminutive blah blah blah. why is it that whenever someone "alludes" to prince they have to reference his height? that form of numerology ( he's 5'2 therefor i must mention it always) is more bullshit than his. At least his #'s come with songs LOL.

There you go Ace. "3121" alludes to the "end days". Not very surprising. Interesting however is that "3121" appears to be the total of years ruled by Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Horntooter

It's also the number of the house that the blob and his family live at in that terrible King of Queens show...
Maybe he's just a big fan of canned laughter and fat guy jokes?!

I only know this because there is an advert on constantly at the moment on the PComedy channel here in the UK. It's adverising the last ever show I think...
Anyhow... When the two leads close the door at the end of the trail it clearly says 3121.

I can just imagine P sitting on his sofa in his old Dirty Mind get up (that he now uses as PJ's) eating Captin Crunch and laughing along with the canned laughter... Spitting cereal everywere...

to be honest i've never really cared what prince means by the number 3121. he didnt invent numerology, nor the vibration of numbers. he might have an intention behind it, or maybe not. either way i'd rather go to the source of the Truth behind what those numbers represent in a universal context. chances r 'angels in heaven are still using him as a channel for their own means whether he knows it or not. biggrin

I work in a high school, and we have a firewall that blocks out "bad" language and such thru the filter. I couldn't get onto the Org "Prince: Music and More" on my lunch break today because of this damn title! I got hit with a big yellow ACCESS DENIED: OBJECTIONABLE WORDS. (someone else got grumpy!) mad

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

I read online (not sure if I can give the website name), but it was an interview with the Twinz and here is one of the questions that were asked and the answer (given on January 4, 2007):

3121 is the title of his recent album. What's the meaning behind it?

Maya: It was one of his old LA homes where he used to put on performances. It’s the actual street address. And then he shifted it to another place in West Hollywood, which is where we met him.

But so does 1501 or 1600 or 2113. What would be the significance of using this sequence of numbers 3121 just because they add up to 7? I don't buy that one at all....

We were told from our waiter when we went to the 3121 restaurant that it was some sort of scripture number from the bible, but I haven't found anything from the little research I did about the bible and those numbers. He claimed he read it and it had a lot of meaning.

If this holds any water, its interesting that he'd pull from Islamic gematria, considering he's a Jehovah's Witness.

But then Prince is known not to play by the rules.

The answer has already been given - 3121 was the number of his house-cum-studio in LA - simple! And the song 3121 is just another "come to mine where the party's at" song.

That is probably right on the money! I cut and pasted the interview with Maya (The Twinz)in a few comments above and that is what she said. Must be the most accurate answer. OK, solved.
