My copy of the LOVESEXY album by Prince just arrived! got the tracked import version off Ebay ( know, they suck, but it's the only place know 2 get it wit seperate trax). know it's an old CD, but here is my review of it:


1. NO
This first song is very funky yet light. love the hilarious conversation @ the end and how it segues into the next song, as it has ALPHABET ST. playing in the background.


2. ALPHABET ST.
The big hit single from LOVESEXY, a very funky song! love the video, but that doesn't have the other half of the song wit Cat's rap & stuff. would luv 2 hear the extended version called ALPHABET ST. (THIS IS NOT MUSIC, THIS IS A TRIP) since read Prince got the inspiration 4 this album after he was on xtacy & cancelled THE BLACK ALBUM.


3. GLAM SLAM
luv the beat of this song! The lyrics r genius & Prince's vocals r amazing, also. However, don't like the orchestra sounds @ the end of it. The video is great but wonder how did Prince know where he was going when he's blindfolded LOL?! Plus have heard the extended remix of this song & its even better.

4. ANNA STESIA
This is a spiritual, self-aware ballad. wonder who was Anna Stesia tho?

5. DANCE ON
like the weird beat 2 this song, and some of the lyrics r funny.

6. LOVESEXY
This has 2 b 1 of my favorite Prince songs now! It's very groovy & very sexy at once. 'm pretty sure heard Camille on here. In fact, my fave part of the song is when he says "U've got me drippin', drippin' all over the floor!". Also, it segues perfectly with the next song.

7. WHEN 2 R IN LOVE
A ballad taken from THE BLACK ALBUM. like Prince's vocals & the muzik on this 1.


8. WISH U HEAVEN
This is an amazing ballad, but it has waaaayy 2 much bass! The video fits the song perfectly & it's 1 of my favorites.

9. POSITIVITY
This song is interesting, with a positive message. It sounds like he is playing pots & pans 4 instruments tho LOL! But, think Prince is such a skilled musician that he can play anything & make it sound good! Also, the rushing water is a great way to end this amazing album.

also have a question: Is it true that "Lovesexy" was a fictional drug made up by Prince, or is it just what he called xtacy? Or maybe was it just his way 2 describe love that is sexy?! LOL have no clue what the definition of the word "Lovesexy" is, but it's obviously not in the dictionary so just thought would ask somebody.

Lovesexy is one of my favorite albums! I have it on cd and vinyl and I it!
My favorites are Anna Stesia and Positivity.

Awesome CD, it's one of my top played ones, especially when I'm in the mood for some hard hitting upbeat stuff.

LoveSexy is one of my top fave albums. I have two...no...three songs....nah...4...5....that I love to death from the album. This was the staple album for my days of video gaming. Screw the fight music...I was flying around in Hollow Bastion to "GlamSlam" and "Positivity". Some of the songs even make me cry. I get REALLY misty-eyed whenever I hear "Eye Wish U Heaven". I was watching the video the day I went out with my bf for the first time...and I just cried a thousand tears of joy for no reason at all. Then there's Anna Stesia....it's just so inexplicably deep!! It's like...I get where he's coming from having felt like that myself, but in the same way I can't even reach the level. Then...."When 2R In Luv"....a personal theme song for me. Let's just say that...monogamy can be a good thing. Then there's Positivity. It's just funky! Even though I was like...2, it reminds me of the 80s and how different the sounds were as compared to now and the early 90s. The beats, the synthesizer....good times.

LoveSexy is one album that also carries over into my choices of usernames, too. On Gaiaonline.com, I'm LadyGlamSlam. Here, well....lol take a look. It inspires me...what can I say?

That's funny because anesthesia is the first thing that entered my head when I saw the album title back in 1988. That and the story of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia (which, obviously, the song didn't actually allude to at all once I heard it).
