Prince's output There is no doubt that Prince's output has slowed in the last few years. He did tell Matt Lauer back in '04 that he isn't always recording music, but he's always thinking about music. Do you think that even though his output has slowed, that he is still writing and perhaps recording at the same rate as he once was. If not, how much do you think it has slowed down (the writing and recording), and why do you think he has slowed down? I've got a guitar that can part the sea.

Camping can slow just about anybody down. But I imagine when P is sitting in that tent of his that he is jotting down lyrics and has medleys running through his head. Who really knows though. I've got a guitar that can part the sea.

The best thing for Prince's music would be for him to stop recording for a while and to change his lifestyle for a while. I mean the man has been living the same life.. decadent rich lifestyle, a girl half his age that probably comes with her own remote control, and doing an album and a tour and cashing in. How can one get inspired doing the same thing year in and year out. He should take a break and go teach music in new orleans or something, or go study latin dance in Cuba or something, you something totally different in a location totally different, out of his nearly billionare lifestyle. Then image the fresh inspiration he would have and imagine the enthusiasm he'd have for music after putting it down for a while and then coming back to it.

I think he took Little Richard's advice from The Prince Portrait vid and decided it would be best to put out "less produck".

Prince has recorded a great deal of NEW material.
The question is: If or WHEN it will see the light of day.

It was a reference to Little Richard saying produck instead of product. BTW Prince could stand to take other people's advice at times. Thats why we're put on the planet Earth with others because sometimes u can use others input. Prince didn't teach himself everything he knows and if u think so then...

I agree with you. Prince needs to live in the real world for a while. That's what inspired him when he started out back in the late 70's. Plus I think he needs to surround himself with "real" people, somebody who got the balls to actually critizise him for a change. The man has been treated like a diva, for way to long. Not to mention that he's been acting like a diva for even longer. I also wish, he wouldn't push the people away, that really care about him. love the one who is Love!
