After getting through a few albums and such, I've come to a conclusion.
Prince wrote zillions of songs that speak about him trying to control his "ego", that "love is more important than sex".

Temptation is the most obvious example of this.
But I heard the 11-min version of Computer Blue and that's basically what is all about. A Genius piece of work, hands down.

Of course, 99% of his songs are sexual (and if u try hard enough, I think anyone could turn anything he wrote into a sexual reference). I learned that early on and I have no problem with it. He makes those pieces sound just incredible, but maybe repeated use of the same theme gets kinda (dare I say it) boring after a while.

That's kind of sad, given the fact that he isn't a young guy anymore. His sexual charged lyrics used to be more effective when he was in his 20's...
At his age it is kind of pathetic.

Brilliant! But so addictive...

I had rough patches in the beginning with his work, but I'm pretty much used 2 it by now... I've grown to enjoy so much of his work, regardless of the subject.

It still makes me wonder, though, with all of the songs he wrote about controlling his ego...

Hey that's what was selling back in the day,and Prince was better at it than anybody else. He could not possible be as good at doing it as he was at singing about it.

The only problem I have with it is that its so addictive... I have to limit myself to one listen a day, or even every other day. But it's 12 minutes that goes by so fast. It's amazing how complex his mind was at that age. He was only a little older than I am now when he wrote it (okay, 4-5 years older, but u get my point)
