Prince was robbed! If you clicked on this sight you probably wondering what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the injustice the Grammys have bestowed on our beloved leader. Not once but twice. First robbery was in 1984 when Purple Rain was up for album of the year and they gave it to Lionel Richie. Don't get me wrong, "Can't Slow Down" was avery good album and Lionel's best if you ask me. But, "Purple Rain" ruled the charts at no.1 for 32 weeks. Where was "Can't Slow Down" then during that time. I don't get it. Next theft was this years Grammys when Mary J. Blige won for best R&B album over 3121. Why? How? I love Mary and she definitley deserve her other awards but that one. Damn! Give Prince at least one damn grammy. That one at least. Highway robbery again. Who votes on these things anyway? I don't know. What you think about all this? Peace and be wild!

You seen the 1988 Grammy Awards? Sign O' The Times and Bad were nominated for Album of The Year but they lost to U2's Joshua Tree. WTF?
Michael was pissed the whole night "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Notwithstanding the fact that the album lost out to 'Can't Slow Down', Prince still scooped two Grammy's for 'Purple Rain' in 1984. In the end, though, who cares? They're just awards.
As for 'Who votes on these things anyway?', the official website explains who qualifies to vote and how the process works. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

" I don't care to win awards..." If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I doubt Prince cares either! "Sometimes being a cold hard bitch is all a woman has left."

Prince cared about that 1987 loss for sure... his attitude showed up in a few interviews. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Michael was pissed the whole night I would take U2's Joshua Tree over Bad all day everyday and twice on Sunday. ...Of course I do prefer Sign O the Times over both.

Why was MJ pissed?
Was it written all over his face? Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

MJB should have won. Prince wasn't bothered and even gave her a little squeeze on the shoulders when it was announced.

MJB.....no surprise. Even Prince didn't think it was a big deal. Lionel.....THAT still surprise me even to this day. But again, The Grammy Committee has always been shady like that. Prince isn't the first artist to get sue by them and will not be the last.

Correct. The only music award show that's fair is Billboard.

Michael was pissed the whole night And what was so special about The Joshua Tree? Well if you don't like U2 then you are not gonna root for them. Joshua tree had alot of critical praise, alot of hit singles, and sold millions. So it's not a shock it won. Like I don't care for Lauren Hill. She sold millions, had alot of hits and her album was also critically acclaimed thus I was not that surprise when she won alot of awards. I don't agree but I understand.
