Prince: Praise CD

Hey gang,
A couple of weeks ago I created a tread about getting suggestions for making my own "spirtual" type Prince cd. Well here it is. I also based the songs in order of how I view things in the bible.

By the way I can't think of a good title so it's either going to be called "Praise" or "Spiritual Sounds & Religious Rythms".

1. The Plan - Kamasuntra (the start)
2. God - The Hits (the maker)
3. And God created Woman - Symbol (creating life)
4. Najee Solo intro - Celebration 2000 (just because)
5. Annastesia - Celebration 2000 (god is love chant)
6. TGRES - Celebration 2000 (chant about Jesus)
7. Candy Dulfer Solo - Live in Germany (just beacuse)
8. The Christ - Live in Germany (another song about Jesus)
9. 4 The Tears in Your Eyes - The Hits (Jesus)
10. Still would Stand all Time - GBridge (Gospel song)
11. The Ladder - AWTWIAD (searching for Heaven)
12. Into the Light/I Will - Chaos & Disorder (knowing god)
13. Gamillah - NPGMC (very pretty music)
14. One Song
15. One of Us - Live from the VH1 Emancipation Party (god)
16. Purple Rain - Live from Tokyo 90 (gotta have this song)
17. Sensual Everafter - TRC (life is bliss)
18. Welcome 2 the Dawn - The Truth

Just wanted to share and maybe some of you have better thoughts on "theme" cd's to make. I would love to hear them.

Peace.

I love that song so much--so underrated. The melody just kills. I could put that on repeat all day.

Why not call it "Welcome 2 the Dawn"?

What is your 2nd cd comprised of?

A little off topic but...

Jehova Witnesses don't use intrumental music in praise and worship right?

I attended a kingdom hall once (chasing a girl) and I noticed it was all acapella. Could a witness please tell me if this goes for all kingdom halls?

If so, I don't think we will ever get a strait up praise and worship CD from Prince.

Which is ok by me. Taste in music always divided every church I went too. I think it's good for those to leave intrumental music out of worship. IMHO...

The church I go too is so diverse. You got folks that are as country as can be side by side with strait up Motown R&B folks. I know for a fact if we were singing songs with a county flair too it I'd have to sit that one out and more likely to leave the room entirely (can't stomach country music) and I'm sure the same might go for the country folks too if the church were to... "funk it up like James Brown".

I wondered what Jehova Witnesses thought about this subject.

Personally, I like to hear Bach in my ears when I want to "rest a while under his wing" (in that personal time) . But I agree not in church.

Maybe this should be a new subject.

Prince would never reach 2 the masses with just some gospel mess. At least not me. He did help me understand him with The Rainbow Children which is 1 of the best he's ever cre8ted.

Ur CD was nice, although I'd like 2 c another more "scene" other than a following of the "bible". Cannot stand that book.

One that would be good would be something about someones life, including what u have along with...A Place In Heaven - God Is Alive - Holy River - God (vocal) would be excellent - There's Others Here With Us - Everywhere - Moonbeam Levels - and In A Large Room With No Light - The Line

Perfect 4 disc 2 huh?

Thanks for the compliment. I don't have Moonbeam Levels, what type of song is it? Does it also have another name? I had thought about using "There are others here with us" as a (left behind in the rapture sort of thing), however I really don't like that song.

I guess U are right "There's..." it is creepy. Moonbeam Levels aka A Better Place 2 Die...short rocker midtone beat and a catchy chorus. Trying 2 compare it 2 something like 3 Cahins O Gold & Strays Of The World. I really did not like this song when I first heard it and thought it was highly over-rated, but it caughht a hold 2 me just like Old Friends 4 Sale 85

There's too many trax that have "hidden"
spiritual themes. But "Elephants and Flowers" ," 7 ", "The Love We Make"
and "I Would Die 4 U" should be on this.

slvrhrt7,
Good thinking.smile What about 'Godspeed' for a name???
May this become a collective thought/prayer so that it goes from potential to actual manifestation-wouldn't that be cool?!? I've always hoped for a cd like this from Prince!
