Looks like he's doing that old ploy.

"Prince" is going away to do biblical things and leave the old music behind.

So the NEW "persona" will pick up with the spiritual music.

Sounds like a plan he shouldve done years ago.

I don't think he will change his music too much. If he was going to, as you said, he would have done it years ago.

He's very religious now and still sings sexual songs so I don't see why he would change now..

did he ever find the Ladder? j/k

Prince has been looking for some kind of spiritual enlightment all of his life. He said himself "man ain't truly happy unless a man truly dies" I believe he's talking about himself, that's the only time he's gonna find what he's looking for.I love him but he's Never satisfied!

Here's my comments regarding the time Prince is going to devote to Bible study-

I think spending time in Bible study is what all people should do.

It seems like Prince is acknowledging God, something not enough human beings do in my opinion. It is his time, so if he chooses to spend it doing something he feels is important, then I think that's great!

Consider this - we all live on God's earth, breath His air, eat His food, enjoy the life He gave - INCLUDING MUSIC - so tell me, why the lack of interest in reading His word?

The bible, far from being the word of God is a political tool. It's used for keeping people in check.
IMHO can be put to use as emergency toilet paper.

in my opinion the Bible is another version of physics and psychology with a heavenly overtone. i like it its a roadmap for the soul and right living. cute if he wants to explore further.

I agree with what you say...people can really "dis" the bible, and that's considered ok, even if they don't know what they're talking about. But they need to remain "politically correct" on everything else.

I think it's a good thing to take time to read God's word.

One of the first times he did this sabbatical thing was right after Purple Rain & the intial release of ATWIAD.
He said he was going to go "looking for the ladder".
He came back so fast,
I remember thinking to myself,
"Guess it was in his garage."
