Ok yeah that album gets attacked alot too. People hate "arms of orion" alot but I like that song.

Batman is just about my least favorite Prince album, but I don't hear people defend it much.

I am quick to defend New Power Soul and Emancipation when people say they suck, because they I think they are both very fun albums....Emancipation has a lot of great stuff on it and you can skip the poor tracks and still have a great album's worth of material.

Yes I really like Emancipation as well. Except for Da da daa (which is the prince song I hate the most and "the plan" does not really fits on the cd) I like or love just about every song on that cd.

Come is defended A LOT here... I had this image of it and people kept trying to convince me otherwise. And I found out that they were right... lol thanx guys cool

Rainbow Children, I definitely hear a lot of talk about. So I'd say that's the most defended album here.
Chaos & Disorder, definitely hear a lot about

Rave is never really defended much, not that I've seen.

And Emancipaton... I'm usually the one saying how much I wanna get it and everyone keeps trying to talk me out of it wink

you should get it. it really showcases prince's love songs, his tender side. the entire cd was dedicated to Mayte when they were falling in love (during their courtship)

His vocals on many are superb.

Out of print but easy to obtain for a resonable price.

My favorites, Soul Sanctuary, Sex in the Summer, Emale, Joint 2 Joint, White Mansion, Somebody's Somebody, right back in my arms, Savior.

You MUST get this CD... it chronicles such a big event in Prince's life... the song he wrote to Mayte for their wedding march Friend Lover Sister Mother/Wife, their baby's heartbeat as the bass beat in Sex in the summer

the cover shows pics of Prince and Mayte as little tots... you could tell he was really into this woman during that time. he was really in love.

I haven't (thankfully) read that much defense of Rave or NPS.

I'll go for C&D - RC and LS have plenty of supporters and a generally positive consensus.
Come has made the turnaround to the org + list.
C&D, OTOH, is still generally derided and undervalued and so there is always someone popping up to say "It's not my fave, but I actually like it"
"We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

RAve~ The Greatest Romance That ever been sold (GREAT VIDEO love)
Hot Wit U (heard a Nasty girl remix... dancing jig)

NPS~ How could you not love The one, Mad Sex, Wasted Kisses.

I had NPS in my CD changer the night my car got stolen. mad I still haven't replaced it yet. sorely missed.

Liking one or 2 songs (or a remix or vid!!!) doesn't save a CD (at least a Prince one), it confirms its damnation (and no, I never liked The Greatest Romance, with or without vid - ILUBIDNUAM is a different story and Wasted Kisses is a classic).

Prince's music does NOT need defending. It's a persons musical taste that does.

People do defend it, but it's not the most defended album (maybe 5th or 6th)

Emancipation is one of my all time favorite cd's!! There is only one song I am not fond of "da da da" other then that, I hit play and enjoy the adventure. I hate when people say that Emancipation is a piece of crap, it makes me very happy!! headbang

Parade and Lovesexy

If you dare say anything bad about those albums, you are accused of not 'getting' Prince because that's supposedly when he was at his peak.

Not to mention the tons of orgers posting how special Lovesexy is because it prevented them from committing suicide.

definitely these two by far, Sign 'O' The Times is next on the list...
chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

From my experience it's LOVESEXY.

There are those that think it's his magnum opus, those that think it's brilliant in its own right and those that think besides one or two songs it's an overproduced, self-indulgent mess that signalled a significant decline in the quality of his music (LIKE ME!!!!). razz

Sign o' the times is hardly ever attacked, thus it needs no defending.

i was thinking that. but when Sott is attacked, people go after it with a vengeance like they are putting down the people who consider it a classic.
