Prince and Stevie Nicks Stevie Nicks has a retrospective out called Crystal Visions. She does commentary for her videos, and on the commentary for Edge of Seventeen (which is a live concert video), she talks about how it was filmed in L.A. on the last night of her Bella Donna tour, and before the show, Prince showed up back stage to wish her luck and told her to have a great show.
So this was 1980/81, and she says in the commentary that they were already friends (and of course that he was dressed in purple back stage). I always thought they met when she asked him to play on Stand Back. But it turns out they've been friends for a lot longer. I still wish they'd do an official duet together. I'd love to hear them tear it up!

I can't remember what magazine it was...it was sometime in the '90s and Courtney Love was interviewing Stevie Nicks and mentioned Prince. I think she asked if she ever got to sleep with him and Stevie Nicks said no and like the same think Sheena Easton said that if you are working with a man everyone assumes that you are also bedding him.
I love "Stand Back" btw.

Stevie's told several stories about knowing and working with Prince over the years. Some are really funny. And Sheila E. and her brother Peter Michael toured with Stevie for a while, so there's long been a big connection with the Prince camp, it seems.

Well, I know that P was a big fan of Stevie and visa versa. They definately hung out a lot in the early 80's. They were definately hanging out before Stand Back. P's not sharing co-writers credit for nothing. P more than likely wanted to down play his involvement of that song cuz that fits in nicely with his mystery image back then. The whole Jamie Starr, "I didn't write this" when it's obvious as hell that he did. Stand Back is basically "Little Red Corvette Pt.2" I think P is also playing guitar on the track. But Stevie LOVES P and LOVES talking about knowing him. Even today. P drove Stevie to a show of her's and said he drove like a mad man. I saw Stevie at P's show in L.A. in 83 on the 1999 tour. She came in a purple dress and shaw and her hair was streaked with purple. She hung out with and danced with P at an after show party also on the 1999 tour. So,....u know. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com
