Prince songs that would be good for auditions. I'm auditioning for my schools swing choir (top 20) on May 29 & 30.
as well as dancing there is singing of course and I was thinking about singing a nice clean med/slow prince song for my audition piece. any suggestions for songs that would be good to sing? 
Note: I'm a good singer and have a wide vocal range if that helps any... | |

what type voice you have ..alto or soprano? pick a song u're comfortable with.. that fits your voice.. there are songs I like by Prince, but I wouldnt sing them only cause of the range.. I'll play n sing "Sometimes It Snows In April" cause that's quiet n mellow, but u might want an upbeat tempo song.. [Edited 5/13/07 14:28pm] | |

Both. My voice can reach from Low alto to High soprano. Notes anywhere from 
Low Aflat to High G. Sometimes I can hit a high A but this is a tryout piece so lets not get carried away.  | |

alot of his stuff is so sexual.. lol .. i was about to name some songs, but i dont think you can just go to the audition singing.. "Shhh" .. i gotta think about this one for a minute.. lol.. | |

haha true! I was thinking that too. But, I have SOTT on my list of maybes although it doesn't seem like a logical piece I can sing it really well | |

Dear Mr. Man .. the only thing with this though.. hard for a female to display her voice on this.. cause he sings this low.. in his voice.. u'd have to do your own thing with that song.. (I am forever harmonizing with him on this) [Edited 5/13/07 14:45pm] | |

u should sing sister....that'll leave a lasting impression 4 sure 
honestly tho.. if you could find a pianist, and you sang the orignal old friends 4sale (with just as much power and feeling), i think it would blow the judges away... [Edited 5/17/07 16:45pm] | |
