Adore was my wedding song. I always loved The Beautiful Ones. I played this out in high school after a girl cheated on me. It reminds me of The Dance from 3121.

Friend/lover/sister/mother/wife is one I have just discovered--although it is sadder than hell when you consider that he was THAT in love with Mayte, and they didn't work out. In the liner notes for Emanc. it says that he wrote it while she slept, recorded in secret, and played for their first dance as husband and wife. I don't care who ya are. . .that's intense.

But it's an amazing song, IMO.

I never understood how anybody could pick one favorite song by Prince, everytime I try,something else comes to mind, there are so many!

Shh just seems to be the perfect one here... and has among some of the best guitar work I've heard Prince do.

Pink Cashmere, I love the layering of lead and backing vocals on this song, it sounds like there are about ten Prince's singing together! The sentiment is beautiful as well.

I'm more likely to prefer a Carly Simon song, "Anticipation".
But that may be due more to social conditioning than to it being a favorite song of mine.

Lol...it's the attack of the brainsmashers today. I can never decide on questions like this. Since I'm kinda in a funk over my current luvlife, I guess I'll have to say Under The Cherry Moon.

I was please to see a few others pick this one..."Soul Sanctuary". Many great ones, but that one is my favorite still.
