Days of Wild was meant to go on the Gold Experience Album. Why it was left out, I am unsure, but I hear people were already familiar with it from some live shows and it also features in The Beautiful Experience video, by the time it appeared on CB.

"It is eccentric, profane and very funny. Mayte raps 'hold onto your wig', while Prince drawls effortlesly. He again returns to his theme of not being violent towards women; if he was accused of ever hitting a woman, he says 'If a woman ever said I did, she's motherf**king lying, I'm a set-up kid' " (Quote from Liz Jones)

Hope this helps a bit, RumAndRaisin!
Sounds like a real man to me...mind if I turn on the radio?

They could get the track down live but problems with the studio versions.

Compared to the live version of Days of Wild, the studio version sounds really flat and lifeless and was more than likely the reason for it being pulled from TGE.

it's not mayte saying "hold onto your wig", it's poet 99. doesnt even sound remotely like mayte, some of liz jones' errors in that book (of which there are many) are unbelievable.

anyway, yeah, great song. i've been loving the one from ona zurich recently.

The studio version has a "too cool to raise my voice" robo funk vibe that the live ones don't. Most of the live ones sound like old fashioned funk jams to me. I think the best live one was the original live premiere at the Beautiful Experience show. That one sounded HUGE like shouting from a mountain. The studio one is the opposite, it sounds like it's right in your face with a cold look.
