The Many Voices of Prince. That’s what drew me 2 him was his amazing voice. It still turns me on like no other.

**** I love his voice...very stylistic.

***** I love his versatility. There is no one who can do as many things with their voice the way Prince does with his. I love how unique his voice is. No one can sound like him and when they try, you can hear it. Prince is in a class by himself. When it comes to singing, he may not be Luther Vandross (God I miss that man) but he's Prince and that's all I need.

I watched the Parade tour before creating this thread, and while watching the Parade tour, it reminded me the reasons why I wasn't really convinced by Prince back in the 80's. In fact I didn't see him as a GREAT singer, and still don't. And I judge Prince as an rnb artist. I only started to take him serioulsy when I discovered his early albums when he used to sing mainly with his falsetto.



For sure Prince can sing, but saying that Prince's got an amazing voice is like putting Prince in the same category as Marvin Gaye.

To me he may sound amazing sometimes and not that great at all other times.

Prince got some strength (his falsetto) and some weakness (his natural voice)...That's why I vote *** and half.

I think Prince voice is unique in the sense that his natural voice doesn't sound like a true soul singer.
