IS $30.00 USD TOO MUCH

I have the opportunity to buy Rave in2 The Joy Fantastic for $30.00 USD (brand new) biggrin excluding shipping. Is this too much and if so, where can I get it cheaper?

If you don't care a bout a hole punch in the bar code, you can get it for as low $14.something new from Amazon.

That's okay, I'm like that too. lol ..but some don't care.

$30 isn't too bad if it's new and absolutely mint.

But it was going for $15.99 USD at Music Today! What I'm trying to figure out is, will I be ripped off if I get it at $30.00 USD?

That's a good deal. We're talking about "Rave in2" here people not Rave Un2.

Can you get Rave In2 from Amazon?

I'd pay that for the DVD, not for the CD.

I don't think $30 for a new, sealed copy of Rave In2 is out of line -- especially since it is no longer available from the only original source that existed.

Just make sure that you aren't comparing prices for Rave Un2 versus Rave In2 -- they are different animals.

The last time I looked, they had it listed as available from their 3rd party sellers - anywhere from $13-14 up to about $50. This is in addition to the Un2 version, which is also out of print now.

The version they were selling at Music Today was Rave (in2) the Joy Fantastic.
And I really appreciate all the feed back and value your opinions. biggrin

I don't know if they were ever shrinkwrapped. I remember they were selling them at Paisley Park unsealed and with no booklet. I bought mine at a used record store back when they first came out. Rave In2 has a jewel case & booklet, and does not come in a Digi-pack like Rave Un2.

I seem to recall that mine arrived unsealed, in a simple padded envelope.

I left it too long, it has now been sold for $50.00 USD plus shipping. Maybe Prince will re-open his online store sometime in the near future.
Thank you for the input. biggrin

It looks like these folks still have it at $15.99. It automatically puts 2 items in your basket, so just change it to 1. Under $5 shipping.

By the way, I think I know why Paisley Park was selling Rave In2 CDs with no artwork. The early versions had "Rave Un2" on the spine by mistake and had to have the tray card reprinted to "Rave In2".

I have the misprinted one.

I wish Music Today would finally make their mind up! I have contacted them on more than one occasion and they assured me that it was no longer in stock or anything by Prince for that matter. The last time I spoke with them I was told "A few of the product links were still accessible. They have now been removed." ????

I picked the super-saver shipping. I think it's as long as 12 days. I'll let you know when/if I get a shipping confirmation.

Not a bad price.... probably not the easiest thing to find. If you like having the physical item in your hands, $30 is probably worth it.

I ordered several from NPGMC (before it closed) and they arrived shrink wrapped. I think I have an extra one lying around somewhere....in addition to the one with the misprint on the spine.

It arrived in the mail today. Ships from Virginia, took 4 days to arrive in Minneapolis.

Funny thing, this copy has the "Rave Un2" incorrect spine text (wow, collectable). Cover is correct, eyes straight ahead. Arrived shrinkwrapped.

Worth it for $20.66 post-paid. biggrin

Peace.

Glad it all went well. Now I might give it a go, but I expect it to cost more and take longer to arrive, biggrin as I live outside of the US.
