The middle one is bangin'! THAT'S the Prince that I know! The first show I saw P do live was on the Controversy tour. Feb , 82 Santa Monica Civic. He was raw, crazed and BAD! He was burning up on the guitar then. Althoigh his show was very polished, he had such an edge. Many folks on here can't imagine how different P was to what you're used to seeing now. It's like two entirely different people. Even by Purple Rain, he had toned downed soooo much of what he was doing and his whole aura had changed. Purple Rain was a watered down version of what Prince was like. I believe he felt he needed to do that to gain more of a mainstream audience. Even on the 1999 tour, on which I saw him twice, he was still very edgy and wild. Almost satanic. He had a very dark "occultish" vibe to him. Many tracks on Controversy and the 1999 album has a sinister, spooky aura to them. That's the closest thing to the real Prince. If Vanity had stayed on for the film, baby.... that movie would have been weird as hell. I think the original concept was not only more graphic but much darker.

I was just saying the same thing about vanity and him being slutty/off center it would have been interesting to see her instead of Appolonia. Better? but minus apples ample bossom. The lake scene was ++ for a teenage boy

Anyway -- I've been studying his poses, he has such an awareness of his body and how to convey emotion physically. It's a very beautiful skill.
