Yes, the first opening night in Vegas at the 3121 club. It felt very surreal to me, with his beautiful white suit on and the glitter on his face. What a great birthday present. | |

1997 - Jam of the Year aftershow San Antonio: me and my best friend are dancing at a club, Prince and Mike Scott are watching and pointing at us from a balcony. After seeing that we've got his eye we bust out into a serious dance routine like we're auditioning for the tour or on drill team. Too funny! She's now about to drop her second baby and we crack up every time I bring this up. We was FINE back in da day. LOL! 1997 - Jam of the Year aftershow Dallas (the next night): I'm standing next to Mayte who's wearing a bad ass strapless dress and high heeled Roman sandals and I tell her, "Girl, YOU are wearing that dress!" She laughs and thanks me and Prince strolls up wearing that funky patchouli but looking good. He looks at me sideways like, "Weren't you in San Antonio last night?????" 2004 June - Musicology Dallas : Me and a homegirl stand next to the stage all night by Mike Scott and Prince comes over repeatedly and sings directly to us. 2004 June - Musicology Shreveport (the next night): I get invited to go up on stage and end up by Mike Scott who does a double take, laughs and says: "Girl, what are you doing here?" Prince walks by, again looks at me sideways like, "Weren't you in Dallas last night?????" and shakes his head chuckling. 2004 July - Musicology New Orleans: I got on stage and I'm hiding in the back. Again, Prince walks by me, stops and comes back, grabs me by the arm and puts me closer to the front of the stage to shake my moneymaker. HAHAHAHAHA (I can't believe I forgot about this one) 2006 - Tamar show Houston: Prince points and waves at me  "Hey, Boo!" 
2006 - Time Show Vegas: I pull out my digital camera to take a quick pic of Prince on stage with the Time, but I got carried away and decided to video instead, he sees me and pokes his lip out, but I still get almost 4 minutes of video until security comes over and threatens to jack my ass up. 2006 - Empire Ballroom (the next night): Prince sees me, raises his eyebrow, and wags his finger at me as if to say: "Girl, don't EVEN think about pulling out your camera!" And of course I didn't. 2006 - 3121 Vegas New Year's Eve: "I'm sorry, but you're clapping off beat and it's throwing me off" and "Your boots are hot." I've already detailed these stories in other threads. 2007 - 3121 Vegas February: He bugged his eyes out at me when he caught me staring. LOL! 2007 - 3121 Vegas March: Friday - Him and Sheila sitting behind me in the aftershow pointing and checking out my new boots. Saturday aftershow - Prince points at me and hollers "Sexual Chocolate!" Twice. 2007 - 3121 Vegas April aftershow: Stands directly in front of me during his guitar solo, steps on my toe, and bends forward over me and I'm bending over backwards in my chair trying to get outta his way. LOL!!! It's been an awesome year!

He and Tamar had just finished their encore performances and he walked up to the middle part of the stage right where I was at to probably wave goodnite to everyone. I was awed and overwhelmed at how close he was to me and desparately shot my hand up in the air in hopes he would grab it and VOILA! He looks at me, gently takes my hand while smiling at me as if he were to say "I saw you freeking out all nite" and HOLDS IT *disclaimer: it seemed as if it were like 5 minutes but my boyfriend said to me it was a good coupla seconds* then he takes off his HOHNER GUITAR, closes his eyes and PLACES IT RIGHT IN MY HANDS and backs away then WALKS away leaving me there holding it!!!! Needless to say, everyone around was grabbing the guitar but I held tight!!!!  I got the chance to feel his leg up and boot too!  I was so excited and silly that nite. It was surreal. His hands were so SOOOOFT. I figured they would be all rough and hard since he's always playing but NOPE!!! IT...WAS...GREAT! I stood 10 feet away from him at an aftershow party during the run of Hammersmith shows a few years ago. There was a small white picket fence between me (the VIP area) and him (the VVVIP area). He looked me up and down (kind of inevitable, given my strikingly unusual appearance), I looked him up and down. No words were exchanged.
I suppose, given that I am a music journalist by profession, I should do everything in my power to chase an interview with him. But for a few seconds, I existed to him. I can live with that. That's good enough for me. | |

When Prince was first introducing his npgmusicclub he did a show in Chicago. Long story short, we ended up getting a table in the back of the Parkwest club. Our table was like 5 feet away from the soundboard. During the show, my friend said she was going to the bathroom but quickly came back. She told us to play it off but that Prince was at the soundboard mixing the show! We tried to play it off but couldn't stop staring at him all night until he went on stage to perform.
The ULTIMATE was in Vegas at the aftershows. Me and my sister met him FINALLY. I told him how as a guitarist myself I had been watching his fingers all night and he said, "Well don't steal my licks!" and smiled. The second night he gave us all Watchtowers and before giving me mine, he said, "And this is better than guitar!" During the concert he came over to our table several times playing guitar in front of us and then he grabbed my 3121 tambourine from me and played it as he stood in front of me, facing me...I COULD HAVE DIED!!! I've had a lot of adventures in my life - parasailed in Jamaica, rode horses in the ocean in Mexico, traveled the Everglades in Florida but hands down, THIS is the highlight of my life! LOL | |

I was working out in Vegas for a few weeks in February and my wife and her friend came out for the weekend. We tried to get into the show but it had sold out for the night. We waited around for the aftershow at the restaraunt,we got up to the front of the line...around 3am...and were told there was no more room. Then as everyone walked away one of the security guys comes up to the hostess and says they can take 3 more and all we had to do was pay the $20 drink minimum. We were in like flynn! We got a table and I had to use the restroom. When I got back my wife was screaming "Baby he's here! I said said "Where? She said,"Right there! I turned around and he was so close that I nearly knocked the guy over. He was right beside me talking to the TWINZ and a couple of other gorgeous ladies. The brother was smooth! I gotta say he was sharp and smelled pretty good too! As we sat down my wife and her friend seemed more nervous than I was. They kept asking "What if he comes over,what are you gonna say? Well I maintained my composure and he sat directly across from me and I sneeked a few glances. At one point we looked at each other and he nodded as if to say "What's Up? It was a graet night. The following week I was at his Sunday night concert front row center. The NBA AllStar weekend was that weekend and a few celebs joined him onstage, Dave Chappelle,Ludacris and Gabrielle Union. We went every wed.(to friends of prince shows) and whenever we could on the weekends. first encounter- At Estero's preformance he walked right pass me by the stage and stood there next to me about 5 feet away watching her for a few.(he smells GLORIOUS) I couldnt move. i was frozen. he was just wondering around his club like it aint no thang that he's prince. second- Anyone go to 3121 regularly on weds???? member dude who was always dressed up with the sign on his back... what are those signs called??? you know the ones with flashing words... i am sure i am just confusing the hell outta ya'll! anyway, he was quite the dancer... i was standing by myself by the soundboard waiting for some friends, and fun dancer dude comes and swoops me up and we dance and dance... he nudges me and tells me to look towards the soundboard. sure enough there is prince watching us behind the soundboard with this big grin and arms folded- now, in my mind i wanted to go grab his lil ass and show him a thing or two...(hehe) but once again, i froze. We also danced on stage once during maceos lil get down-but he wasnt there... doing a change of clothes or something. i waited in line for hours MANY times to be in front and have touched him before. worth it everytime:) | |

I literally had a brush with Prince:
At the 2000 celly, me and a mate were sitting on a table in the front "atrium" (?) taking a breather - I think it ws the last night. Suddenly someone who looked like a little kid brushed past my leg followed by Aaron and another security guy. They rushed into the store before I could even register and a few minutes later, P emerged carrying a handful of vids (maybe one of the bodyguards was carrying the vids, I don't remember). Only then was I sure that it had been him. He then went back into the club-room and started putting on the vids - which were of old concert footage. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
