When I was a Senior in High School, 1984, my friends and I were driving around downtown Minneapolis late one night. We drove by First Avenue as he was getting off his motorcycle. We just all screamed OH MY GOD ITS PRINCE and drove away.

WHen he was promoting TAMAR in MIAMI, he grabbed my hand and gazed into my eyes...THEN PUT HIS GUITAR IN MY HANDS!!!!!

During the Musicology tour when he had the afterparty in Boca Raton, me and my friends were dancing on top of this platform like stage which was infront of the bar. Everyone in the club was rocking then suddenly the DJ says "I want everyone to know that PRINCE IS IN THE HOUSE TONITE everybody!!!" Evryone went crazy trying to search for him..



He was right in back of us with his dark shades on just standing there watching us....

I've posted this before, but I'll tell the story again just for you.

I went to the ONA show in Seattle, which happened to be my first Prince concert. After the show, I waited at the back entrance for Prince to make his exit. After a few minutes, he emerged, surrounded by body guards. I was standing just a few yards away, and everyone around me was screaming his name. I wanted to tell him something meaningful, so right before he got in his limo, I screamed, "You changed my life!!!!!" at the top of my lungs. He paused for a moment after I said it, and my sister said, "Rani! He heard you, he heard you!" Then, he got into his limo and drove away. I have no idea to this day if he really heard me, but it doesn't matter. I was happy that i worked up the guts to say that to my hero.

I have had only one close encounter with Prince, it was during his Jam of the Year tour, and he came to Oklahoma City...well the day after the concert, I went to my local Walmart in the OKC area, wearing my shirt from the concert. When this check out lady came up to me, and said...you just missed Prince and his group. I was like..'Prince came into Walmart?' She said 'No, but a bunch of his people did, buying snacks and such.' The check out lady said Prince was out in the car sleeping! I guess they stopped on their way down to the Dallas area for a show. I about died when she said this to me, I guess Prince and his people left like 5 mins before I got there!

I'm so blessed to have had a few "encounters" although not the kind I REALLY want. LOL just kidding (kinda)

1997 - Jam of the Year aftershow San Antonio: me and my best friend are dancing at a club, Prince and Mike Scott are watching and pointing at us from a balcony. After seeing that we've got his eye we bust out into a serious dance routine like we're auditioning for the tour or on drill team. Too funny! She's now about to drop her second baby and we crack up every time I bring this up. We was FINE back in da day. LOL!
1997 - Jam of the Year aftershow Dallas (the next night): I'm standing next to Mayte who's wearing a bad ass strapless dress and high heeled Roman sandals and I tell her, "Girl, YOU are wearing that dress!" She laughs and thanks me and Prince strolls up wearing that funky patchouli but looking good. He looks at me sideways like, "Weren't you in San Antonio last night?????"
2004 June - Musicology Dallas : Me and a homegirl stand next to the stage all night by Mike Scott and Prince comes over repeatedly and sings directly to us.
2004 June - Musicology Shreveport (the next night): I get invited to go up on stage and end up by Mike Scott who does a double take, laughs and says: "Girl, what are you doing here?" Prince walks by, again looks at me sideways like, "Weren't you in Dallas last night?????" and shakes his head chuckling.
2004 July - Musicology New Orleans: I got on stage and I'm hiding in the back. Again, Prince walks by me, stops and comes back, grabs me by the arm and puts me closer to the front of the stage to shake my moneymaker. HAHAHAHAHA (I can't believe I forgot about this one)
2006 - Tamar show Houston: Prince points and waves at me "Hey, Boo!"
2006 - Time Show Vegas: I pull out my digital camera to take a quick pic of Prince on stage with the Time, but I got carried away and decided to video instead, he sees me and pokes his lip out, but I still get almost 4 minutes of video until security comes over and threatens to jack my ass up.
2006 - Empire Ballroom (the next night): Prince sees me, raises his eyebrow, and wags his finger at me as if to say: "Girl, don't EVEN think about pulling out your camera!" And of course I didn't.
2006 - 3121 Vegas New Year's Eve: "I'm sorry, but you're clapping off beat and it's throwing me off" and "Your boots are hot." I've already detailed these stories in other threads.
2007 - 3121 Vegas February: He bugged his eyes out at me when he caught me staring. LOL!
2007 - 3121 Vegas March: Friday - Him and Sheila sitting behind me in the aftershow pointing and checking out my new boots. Saturday aftershow - Prince points at me and hollers "Sexual Chocolate!" Twice.
2007 - 3121 Vegas April aftershow: Stands directly in front of me during his guitar solo, steps on my toe, and bends forward over me and I'm bending over backwards in my chair trying to get outta his way. LOL!!!

It's been an awesome year!

Even though I posted this in another forum before, I believe it's worth mentioning here. I not only met him and talked to him, but I played with him and his band in front of a bunch of MPGMC folks!
