Prince Vs. Michael Jackson parties. ?? Can somebody explain the concept to me?
Is it really a bunch of fans from each camp trying to have a party together, while the DJ mixes hits from both? Wouldn't that be like going through moments of euphoria to nausea on the dancefloor? It makes no fucking sense!

This is what they are....
Basically is a tribute night to both and the DJ will basically play music from both artists. There really is no VS aspect. You get 1-2 from each back and forth. It's an OK concept. They don't really delve into any of the lesser hits. It's also awkward going from Erotic City to Man in the Mirror. I believe the reason they both are showcased is because of the wider appeal he gets by throwing in MJ. I've thrown parties in the past and when ever I pitch it, the club owner always asks "why not make it just a funk night" as they fear there isn't just a base that would come for a Prince night. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Actually there aren't that many rabid fans of either that attend these. Mostly regular folks, from what I have observed. I don't really think there is an MJ base, so you pretty much get the Prince fans and casual folks who like both. Christian Zombie Vampires
