SHOULD THE REVOLUTION B REFORMED?

DONT GET ME WRONG I STILL LOVE WHAT PRINCE IS DOING NOW...BUT I THINK THE REVOLUTION YEARS WERE BETTER. OR AM I JUST BEING SENTIMENTAL BECAUSE IM GETTING OLDER?

While I strongly disagree, I will say that while a reunion would be nice it probably won't look or feel the same as it was in the 80's.

[list]The Revolution had and always will have a special place in all prince fans hearts due to the fact of all the history with the movies related with them as a whole group. The NPG did not have the big screen vision to support the sound. I personally would like to see more of prince on the big screen again!!

Why do you say please no? I mean do have something against Lisa,Wendy and lets not forget the doctor!! I think thier sound is timeless. Besides if they did get back I completly have faith that Prince would create a new Dynamic after all they're named The Revolution!!

it's been decades since they were a working band and they've all moved on. wendy and lisa are on to a whole other thing now, and they're the most likely to collaborate with prince (as they have been over the past few years here and there). they've aged and moved on and they don't have any reason to get back in their costumes and rock the poufy revolution hair and get back in character again. they're different people now. including prince. it just would not work. it would be awkward and it would look goofy and i don't really think anything fantastic would come of it. if they just got together for a reunion chat on a talk show, that would be cool.

Man,...how can I say this in a polite, sweet natured way....hmmmm...FUCK THE REVOLUTION!!....Dig, it's not going to happen. None of the o.g. memebers want it to happen. Mark is going to hop up there right alongside Bobby, right? Nah. They couldn't keep up with P today if their lives depened on it. It was cool in 84-85. Not today. PLEASE let the revolution be.

Sure its been decades since they have been together as a group but as far as moving on ...well thats life !! We all do. My point is this just because we move on and do other things does not mean the changed or new and improved if that be the case can't come together and create something fresh and now! I mean I have changed a whole hell of alot in my years and my friends and co artist as well, But when we come together as just friends or creatively in music we bring to the table what we learned or been through. And that is current. So I think the same appliews in this case. Sure Prince and the rest of them have all moved on but that does'nt change what can happen when truly gifted artist come together or get back together can create! And thats individually or as a group, past and present. The connection is timeless!! And so is the MUSIC! cool

do you really think they would sport the same hair and outfits? when The Family got back together they sported their current styles and it worked fine. Wendy & Lisa have been updating The Revolution songbook live over the years and the updated sounds rock...I think it would be awesome to hear these versions with prince fronting the band.

The way the girls do Around The World In A Day and Mountains are ten times better then the original so for me, sure!!! I am not expecting them to look or sound the same...i am not stuck in the past (like many upcoming comments will claim)...Real musicians with distinctive styles should always be allowed to jam.

Sorry but he has had several bands since the Revolution that were a better cohesive unit for live music. I'm not talking about individual relationships and all that crap I'm talking about the way the band as a whole sounded live.

like pretty boy floyd (the boxer) says " if it make dollars it makes sense" so i can see it.maybe a one time only televised special with a CD/DVD/ itunes ( added untelevised tracks) package. I think it's so funny that people compare the revolution to experienced jazz based musicians when they were practically kids LOL. They may not be genuises like prince but i'm sure all of them have improved as musicians as well. Just because we love him dont mean he's the only person on the planet aging well, he aint even aging better than some people i know LOL . Wendy and Lisa look great and sheila too. Explore it, because like it or not the lineup was a part of his legend, when he became an icon they were standing behind him and the relationships (as immortalised in film) do sell.

LOL ok what's your point? I know every one has their own opinion, please let me have mine. I thought that was quite clear, I guess not. I think he's had several better bands as a cohesive musical unit for live music. Btw- what up the the Celine Dion pic?

Not only that, Prince isn't in that zone again. You can't go back 23 years, no matter what...time marches on.... razz

Yes,
but only if they record a kickass album first. Ya I know some people would say that's impossible. But I say screw that, although not his best, (Sign O' the Times band was the best!) the Revolution was one of his best bands because they helped Prince pave the way for so much great music. They should also be in the R&R Hall of Fame!
We should give them more respect.....

people that doesnt mean comeback, maybe at somepoint at your life is good to revisit something that was good.
one thing is for sure,it can't sound bad.it can sound realy good maybe we gonna get the best versions of songs from purple rain album,parade...
they should reunite for a short tour dvd.
it would be tragedy if they don't do it.they are privileged because all are alive and well.
cream reunited 2 years ago to a great response by audiance
