and the reason she left was because she really had a change to have her own career without him but had to strike while the iron was hot which meant during the filming of Purple Rain. She got a recording contract with motwon records. None of the other protogees got anything in writing after leaving prince. Except Jill Jones, (obscure, no real promotion) and probably Sheena and Sheila, but both of them had irons in the fire before hooking up iwth Prince.
