The Black Album must go. The people trying to get rid
of 1999, quit smokin' crack.

It's starting to get a little harder now but I will say that The Black Album has got to go. Bye-bye. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

By the looks of it the Black Album is history but common people, is better than the Black Album or Controversy?
Man, am I on a Prince website or an MJ site?!?!?!?! 'nuff said. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.
RIAA 'nuff said. | |

Eye am placing a bet that PARADE has a spot in the top 5.. maybe top 3..

Again, 1999, though my vote for this is fruitless.

The Truth -- another strategic vote to save TRC; though, "The Truth" and "Don't Play Me" are two excellent songs that I hate to see leave this early in the game.

Definately Controversy...
the title song is great but between DM and 1999 the album is just NOT up to standard. Ronnie talk to Russia is one of the worst songs P has ever written...

just wondering how anyone who's into prince can NOT like the black album - the lp where prince pays musical and lyrical tribute to the true giants, miles davis, chalie parker, sly stone, etc. this is not a specially 'dark' album (ok, maybe it is compared to the sacrosanct prince who sings on TRC - but that's only good!).
the black album is an extremely inspired musical journey with some of the phattes jams of prince's entire career. check out the sheer funky nastiness of 'superfunkycalifragisexy', the dark edge spiced with humor in 'bob george', the satire in the lyrics to 'dead on it', the hyper jazzy bebop-inspired horn lines in 'rockard in a funky place'... come on people, the black album has to stay a little longer. the black album just rocks! and then it rocks some more!!

Despite having some more standout tracks than TRC, The 1992 Symbol album has to go. Sounds dated and bombastic, and i hardly play it.
