..wow, this tour is heading for a sell out. With just 1 press conference and 1 late night gig the U.K is going bonkers, people are flying in from Europe etc. Truly heart warming.

the rush on tickets this morning was eek

i mean, what is this? are all of these
dates for the entire arena?

for a 20,000+ crowd?

dayum. prince has got some major pulling
power i tell you that.

if he sells out that arena 21 nights he
will have some serious cash in pocket.

that's 21 nights x 20,000 seats x 31 pounds = 13,000,000 pounds

eek eek eek

I think his ultimate goal is 3121 million on his purple bank account.

I'm really happy 4 Prince. I'm really getting annoyed at this "80's Has Been" talk. Nobody can put on a Show like Prince!...No, not even MJ razz

deffo not washed up, but don't get carried away by the amount of tix sold, in my opinion this is for a small arena and not the 20000 capacity one....

I'd be pretty sure it was from the seating chart, and the fact that it's the same one for the other big shows coming up there.

My basic arithmetic came up with around 25,000 seats :

Lower tier - 26 rows (A-Z), with 541 seats all the way around - 14,000 odd.
Upper tier - 21 rows (A-U), with 538 seats all the way around - 11,000 odd.

It is pretty amazing how quickly they were selling out tho', and I do wonder if more will become available nearer the time when the hype has died down.

I guess even tho' his albums don't sell so well these days (although the last couple must have done relatively well), he's still known as one hell of a showman - the likes of whom are almost a dying breed.

Plus he hasn't been to Europe in years, plus it's the only shows in Europe, plus most of the tickets are - let's be honest - an absolute bargain.

The best thing that ever happened to Prince is music changed to lip syncing pop/dance acts again, because he fills that niche of being different. He actually has his mic turned on and plays instruments.

Plus his show is usually cheaper.

All the Magazines were calling him a hasbeen,etc... well where are all the young acts from the late 1990's and early 2000's???? Most are gone or not even touring.

American Idol last few years was playing the 5,000 seaters.

This is the O2 ARENA as stated.

As aforementioned check the seating plan. It is a 23,000 seater.

Usually when I think of someone who is washed-up or referred to as a has-been, I picture someone who disapears for a few years, maybe even decades and maybe has a family, changes profession or simply lives off the money they have made. Then they try to make a comeback.
Prince has always been working, making music, writing/ recording songs (be it for him or other people). From what I have read/ watched, he is constantly working, been doing the same thing since the late 70s. Does the man ever sleep?
lol
I think thats why I don't think of him as washed up, but each to their own opinion of course!
Sounds like a real man to me...mind if I turn on the radio?
