Why would he call it the NEW album if it's 3121?

It's not like the UK hasn't heard of 3121, he performed songs from it at the Brits.

It's a new album, for sure.

cool

I hope it has a more live sound to it, the studio sound kinda ruined 3121 for me. No Lolita fluff. And better vocals.

For some reason, I think it will be a spiritual album, with tracks like

Earth
Ozone
Fire
Nature
Wind
Rain
Sun

I bet I'm totally wrong, and the first track will be called

"Guess what, U're fuck buddy is back!" lol

Maybe he'll continue with the London theme and it'll be an album of Cockney Knees-up tunes.

Where is the source for that? WHO said it was a new untitled album? Isn't it strange that a new album would be coming and no one can be quoted as referring to it?

NEW = already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time : her new bike.

It's a new one to those who receive it free. lol

If it really *IS* a new album then this one is being announced in a way unlike any other Prince release in history.

That's totally avoiding the question... where does the statement come from that people are talking about in regards to it being a new album? WHO said that or gave the media that info. In most cases, there is a quotation on it but on this - nothing.

Let me just be the first to say, I can't handle all of this.

He got me all excited about the 3121 perfume coming out on the 7th..

THEN he does the 21 nights in London and people start talking about retirement, moving to Europe, no American leg of the tour, etc

On top of all that, we have a POSSIBLE new album... "NEW CD" seems to suggest a brand new unheard album, but then there's the people who say it's just 3121...

I want some answers. NOW.

He was asked about giving away the "new" album at the press conference- and he could have corrected the reporter by saying "3121". confused Apparently, the press release they had in front of them referred to the give away as "new".

What's to correct?

If Prince is still marketing 3121 then he no doubt considers it new. It's new enough that he's releasing a perfume called the very same thing on 7/7/07.

I think 3121 is just going to be around for the long term now, you know replacing the NPG. So maybe it's not marketing as far as new album is concerned. Someone just posted elsewhere that the Star Tribune confirms new album today, but there's no link- am about to check their site.

See, the thing that worries me is that you have a single line or a comment taken out of context by one media outlet and then other media outlets have a tendency to just repeat what they hear without sources or citations. For example, if someone is getting this info from the graphic at 3121.com about getting a copy of the new album with their ticket then I believe even more firmly that it's just 3121 that's being talked about.

If the Star Tribine just repeats the same stuff we've already read, without adding anything to it of consequence then I think we just have the media twisting the facts - and we all know how that goes...
