Willing and Able Appreciation thread

I was just looking at the Diamonds and Pearls video, and I LOVE the version of Willing and Able here with the Steeles.

This is such a cool song, and to see Prince in a zone, just dancing like that, and wrapped up in the music... always puts a smile on my face.

I prefer that version over the original Willing and Able D&P cut, but they're both groovy tunes.

Even Tony M.'s rap (sorry haters) kinda works for me!

Well "Hello" MC T. on a mellow, swing low to the tempo as I flow on a roll here we go willing and able to start the flow right while I'm clockin' you blah blah messing with the boots I'm knockin it ain't like that blah blah blah.... LOL

I don't care... love it! smile

One of his most underrated tracks from the 90's.

I love the groove of it, kinda like old R&B / gospel mixed with the south-african music on 'graceland' from Paul Simon.

Even the short Tony M. rap is rather bearable.. lol

But most of all i love Princes vocals on this one, it sound like he recorded them in one take, feeling determinated and secure to 'lay his cards on the table'.

That vocals and lyrics make it the perfect song for me to put up, when i feel like i am motivating myselve.

The video version is immense. Voacally superior to the cd version. Was the video a live cut or simply a mime of a pre-recorded alternate version?
