moderatorIt's rare that he fails to deliver this tune well. For me persoanlly, the greatest ever live performance of this was at the Emacipation Freedom Concert. The arrangement was spectacular, his vocal delivery was on point and his guitar solo was beautiful, focused and charged with emotion. No version i have heard since compares to that. Yes, i have the 'it ain't over cd'. | |

I'm not sure if that's the best version or not  but I LOVE that performance as well.  And 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' from the same concert.  | |

I love the versions of IIWYGF from that era...  Very funky. The one on Oprah was great, too. 
But my all-time favourite live version of IIWYG is from the 'Sign O' The Times' movie... absolutely breathtaking. I'm in heaven when I listen to that.   | |

The various Vegas versions that I have heard have not been particularly appealing compared to previous arrangements. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift. |
