Recording cassettes to Mini-Disc... I have been recently converting all my (ahem) "rare" Prince material onto MD format and I have decided to erase a lot of tracks based on info gathered on this site/in the Turn It Up 2.0/Days Of Wild Books/general knowledge. These tracks have nothing to do with Prince, are fakes etc.
Of course, being a geek, now I am paranoid that some of them may have the tiniest smidgeon of Prince involvement. So here's a quick list for someone to confirm that I can zap them from my archives forever! Go on humour me. Stranger - known fake Livin' In America - known fake Undergound 1 (Instrumental) Undergound 2 (Instrumental) - Uptown have stated there was never an album project called Undergound Paisley Park Instrumental - known fake Hysterical B-Side - no mention of this track anywhere Tinkerbell Jazz - known fake Ozymandia's Overture - known fake My Lord/Lord's Prayer - known fake Do Anything - known to have no Prince involvement People Without - known fake (supposed Studio version) As I Recall Fallin Down There'll Be No Way For U and I Yes Again - These 4 tracks were on Platinum, do they come form John L. Nelson's "Fathers Song" album? Any Prince involvement? I can find no mention of them anywhere. An aside, one of my cassettes has a track called "Inside Of U" a lovely genuine Prince piano led ballad. Not very good quality. It was only when I listened to it last night that I heard the words "...the grand progression..." I didn't realise I even had that one! I wish these bootleggers would get the track names correct. Jeesh! Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

I think you're correct on all of those. I haven't heard some of them (I've avoided them since I found out they were fake) - I love Do Anything, though...

Cheers booyah! I agree "Do Anything" is cool. It is the most Princely sounding non-Prince track I have heard. (I also have the pukka CD single of this anyhoo) Just somewhere in the middle,

Do Anything is a classic it's by Natural Selection
its not really a fake it was released but taken off shelves shortly I have one "Yo Kinda Man" and one called "Some Of Me" Yo Kinda Man is pretty cool I wouldnt erase it. "Some Of Me " is just horrible Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

In my opinion, My Lord/Lord's Prayer MIGHT actually be Prince. I have this one on an old vinyl bootleg that also includes another "uncertain" track: Cat Scratch. Both sound very rough and have a strong primitive sampler used over them ... I'm not sure, but I'd keep them just in case !

Also, I thought tinkerbell jazz was a confirmed Prince track? Doesn't it have an alternate name too?
