I would really love to be in that position again - hearing songs like Bambi for the first time. I do actually remember the first time I heard it (a few years after release - I was late into Prince too!) and it just blew me away! Awesome tune.
Live it's even better, I remember when he played it on the Nude tour it was certainly unexpected, but definitely welcome... 
Reminds me of a story I heard a few years ago, apparently at one of the Wembley Nude dates there was some guy holding up a placard with Bambi written on it night after night. Apparently, according to regular attendees, Prince was a bit pissed off but seemed to give in pretty soon after cos he started playing it (and did on and off for the rest of the tour). Don't know if it's true, but I like to believe it is! | |

I remember a girl cousin of mine had the album. I was 10. I was already hipped to P from "Soft and Wet" and I had the single. But she used to play "I Wanna Be Your Lover" all the time. I also had that single but I had yet gotten the album. So one day I was over at her house and just kept playing "Lover" over and over. And I was like "play the rest of the album." She hadn't even listened to any other songs on there. Man, when I heard Bambi and Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad, I was like "Damn...I'm getting this."
