Most of us here have all of Prince's official releases, plus scores of other things (merchandise, bootlegs, pics, etc.) So you probably warn people not to get you Prince stuff as gifts.

But think back now...

I definitely warn people not to get me Prince things, but sometimes they don't listen, so I do have some duplicates in my collection. My birthday was last month and my parents got me a record player. They also gave me a bunch of 45s and Sign O the Times and 1999 on vinyl, so that was a great surprise

Also, you made me remember, how last year for my birthday I received 4 copies of 3121!
The first copy was a great gift though, cause my manager/friend at work managed to score a copy a week before it's release

My husband gave me Crystal Ball and the cool T-shirt that came with it when we were dating. I knew right then and there he was a keeper. My son also gives me Prince gifts for Christmas and I never tire of it. I love me some Prince any way I can get him.

I'm going to be tempted to get all the albums I want (that I find) at FYE... its selection is the best of the places I've been to... and if not, I'll be tempted to go online and spend money on albums with the credit card I got to pay for college (my dad ultimately pays the bill), so if I do that, I'll have to pay him back... which shouldn't be a problem since I hear the prices are pretty good online.

I'm greedy when it comes 2 Prince stuff,so I don't mind receiving duplicate items. However,I think THE most special Prince gift came from a fellow orger-a Prince sweat towel from the May 28th concert last year with Tamar! A fellow Prince buddy gave me Purple Rain on Vinyl last year, she couldn't believe I didn't have it in that format.

A very x boyfriend gave me the batman (Vinyl) picture disc album when it came out

When I was a junior in high shcool (about '98 or so) my friend gave me a purple hand towel that had the O+> on it (Similar to the ones they sell at the 3121 Boutique).

The year, my grandfather, who worked banquets in San Francisco hotels gave me a small jar of honey that had a label that said "The Scandalous Sex Suite," with Prince and Kim Basinger. (For those of you who might make fun, it definitely looks official) He said that one of Prince's people gave it to him when he was staying at the Clift Hotel.

A friend in high school also gave me the poster of Prince that came with the original vinyl copies of Controversy.

ooooo.....I was spoilt by my Hubby at xmas! I have all of his offical stuff except 'For You' and 'Crystal Ball' he searched Ebay high & low & got me both, along with the book 'Possessed' and the new D&P DVD & 'Under the Cherry Moon' on DVD as I only had it on video! Along with a pink I-Pod to put alllll of my music on! Spoilt brat!!!

i don't have that problem cause alot of ppl don't know i like Prince... but alot of ppl know i like BSB and i'm always getting BSB stuff. its great!

so... if anyone just happens to have Prince stuff they don't need or extras they wanna give away-- send them to ME!! i don't even have a collection of anything! i only have 5-6 of his CDs and a bunch of mixes I made. I'm desperate here!

Probably one of my favorite 'Prince gifts' isn't actually a gift, but it sorta is.

One of my best friends is a pretty good guitarist, and after he saw the Superbowl, he downloaded the sheet music for Purple Rain so he could teach himself how to play it for me.

It was gonna be a birthday surprise for me, but he hasn't really had the time to really get it down yet and my birthday was last week

Many moons ago (around the early 90's iirc), a good friend gave me 2 bootlegs on vinyl for my b-day. I never had the money for that type of stuff. The cute twist was that he was a MAJOR Stones fan, so he found me the show where Prince did "Miss You" with Ron Wood.

Someone who I met online about 10 years ago, gave me a guitar pick off of a piano that Prince had just used. This guy Peter, use to work at Paisley Park, he maintained a fishtank back in the Mayte days.

Oh Yes!!! And someone I met online about 10 years ago also, sent me 2 ( my only 2) bootlegs from england.

Target was useless. FYE, once I found the right section, was AMAZING.
There were so many different albums that it was almost overwhelming. Then again, a lot of them, I wasn't even considering. What worked out for me was that I was able to find what I wanted and then some, so I didn't have to make any really hard decisions (I get so bad with those).

At FYE, I got 3121 (which I really wanted more than Musicology, but I ended up liking Musicology better... but I'll get back to u on that, Musicology hasn't gotten any love in weeks)... and TGE.

The other ones I saw included Prince, Come, ATWIAD, PR, the Hits and of course, the Very best of (which I have) & The Ultimate. If I come back soon, ATWIAD & Come are my next two a) if they're still there and b) if something else doesn't catch my eye.
Hopefully, I won't be in a position where I have to make a choice cuz of money issues... that would be too much and I'd be debating on it 4 a long time.
