Who coined the term, "His Royal Badness"? My fave way to describe P. Does anyone who coined the moniker and the first time it was used? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Was it really Don Cornelius? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I've got no idea.
I've only referred to him as that once. And I think it was a reference to how he performed in the "good old days" of the 80's with songs like "Darling Nikki"... I have diff. nicknames for him as well. As much as I love typing Prince over and over again... it feels just wrong to do it too much. So I like calling him "his Greatness" had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

I wanna say it was People mag who first called him that, but I am not sure. Did he only get called that when Purple Rain hit or when 1999 hit? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

It was before Purple Rain. I know that. It had to be around 1999 period. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

John Bream was the staff music writer at the Minnepolis Star and Tribune. He was the first person to write a biography of Prince and that biography became the basis for alot of the other biographies. I think it was called Prince's Purple Reign. I remember it being sold at Target at the height of Purple-mainia. I'd love to have a copy of that book now, actually.
