My "PRINCE-ish" night at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill (With Pictures!!!) My "PRINCE-ish" Night at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill (With Pictures!)
So this past Friday night, (April 6th, 2007) we went to Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill to have dinner. Right when you walk in, this place has a bench to wait at. It looks pretty cool. We had to get a shot on it. Check it out. We went on to eat dinner. Good food. Then as we were getting up to walk around and check out the stuff on the walls, I spotted it. It was a HUGE art painting done on the entire wall. The painting features tons of pop stars. Madonna, MJ etc. However, I saw our Purple friend and had to take a pic next to him for the org. Check out me with Prince. Then as we were leaving I saw this and I had to get a picture of this for the org also. Apparently, it was the shirt P wore in Purple Rain. Now if he actually wore "this" shirt in Purple Rain, that is another story. Anyways, back to our normal scheduled programming. [Edited 4/9/07 0:34am]

The .org keeps me shut in. I'd never see this otherwise. Just joking! Seriously, nice pictures! Thanks for taking the time to post them for us! I'm firmly planted in denial

Oh Lawd...I never thought I'd say this...
That shirt is too feminine for Prince! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

UPDATE:
Dick Clark's American Bandstand grill closes By JOYCE SMITH The Kansas City Star After 15 years as an Overland Park mainstay, Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Grill has closed. During the day and early evening, the operation at 10975 Metcalf Ave. was a restaurant. But Wednesday through Saturday nights, its “Studio B Night Club” was the attraction. However, the city had criticized the operation in 2006 for its high number of police calls — 241 in the previous 26 months, several involving underage drinking and people leaving the club with alcohol. Earlier this year, the owners said they had increased surveillance, introduced a dress code, and eliminated a Sunday “Salsa Night,” and thus decreased the number of police calls. Overland Park renewed the club’s permit in March. American Bandstand restaurants, started as a subsidiary of Dick Clark Productions in Burbank, Calif., feature rock ’n’ roll memorabilia from TV personality and “American Bandstand” host Dick Clark’s personal collection. A franchise holding company owned the Overland Park location. A Dick Clark Productions Web site lists six other locations, including one in Branson. Auction Expo Inc. of Carrollton, Texas, will hold a public auction of the Overland Park restaurant’s memorabilia, fixtures and equipment at 10 a.m. Tuesday; viewing will start at 8 a.m. For more information, visit www.abgrill.com. Jason's PS: I went to the auction hoping to score Prince's shirt. Prince's shirt was already gone. Apparenty, Dick, or the managers of the store kept it, or it was returned to Prince. Oh well. R.I.P.
