ONE NITE ALONE LIVE Is it worth buying Yeah it's like "oh you mocked me for liking him but now he's dead it's cool to play him again?" And then they look at you funny when you don't play him. -Timmy on after 6-25 fans

Yes We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's good.
Who remembers when orgers started posting that they received it in the mail and wondering when the UPS driver was going to make it to your house?

I really need to get this. I don't know why I've been putting it off. The Seattle ONA show was my first Prince concert, so it would be awesome to relive the memory. We both need to buy it Zhare! Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

The third disc 'It Ain't Over' is fantastic. It's nice to have an official aftershow piece and it's a darn good one. It's a damn good CD of Prince's finest jamming.
The double CD that makes up the main concert is a huge let-down. There are piss-poor sound quality live bootlegs that have given a more satisfying live recording. I've said it numerous times, but I'll say it again. ONA Live is basically an album of cover versions with an almost silent audience noise dubbed on in the background. Completely atmosphere free. I suppose if you experienced that tour then it's a great souvenir, but as the first ever live CD released by Prince, it's as shit as fuck.

As far as getting official live releases, it's a low priority
Lovesexy Live in 2 parts on VHS have been officially released, long long overdue for a dvd release Sign O The Times DVD has been released Purple Rain Live in Syracuse on VHS has been officially released and is a great document of a complete show I watch my Live at The Aladdin DVD more than listen to the box set I have got about a dozen boots of ONA shows so I really thought the tour was great, hardly listen to the official release though

am i the only one who doesn't like this? it's a total wasted opportunity.
he did so many career highlight performances on that tour, especially in europe and asia. stuff that made your jaw drop down to if not through the floor and then, when he finally releases a live album this is all we got. it's a nice set don't get me wrong but it showcases about 20% of what the tour was all about by the way it was halfway through. the aftershow disc could have done without the guests and the dull vamp stuff and would have been better off with blistering versions of cuts like days of wild, calhoun sq, beautiful strange, something in the water etc. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

The performances sound flat, and the audience is drowned out in this mix to the point that it sounds lifeless. Some of the One Night Alone bootleg performances were great, and the audience participation definitely adds to the overall vibe of the show. But this particular recording is sooooo underwhelming compared to some of his live bootlegs, I struggle to wonder if Prince has heard any of his live bootlegs.

I really like it, but i've never owned a single bootleg of Prince's, so it's really my only live c.d. I didn't see him on that tour so it's my only way to experience it. Maybe if I'd heard the boots i'd feel differently, but, yea, to me it's worth buying. " A mind changed against its will, is of the same opinion still"
