Tick Tick Bang

Bloody hell folks!!!!I have recently stumbled across something which most of u may have heard or may already know about which gobsmacked me big style.
I am listening 2 what sounds like an ancient outtake of the song from something called "The Work" and had no idea this little great song from the G Bridge album was in fact a re-work of an older outtake.
Does ne1 have ne details as 2 when the song was written?,if it was intended 4 ne earlier album releases? etc.....ne info at all smile

According to Uptown's The Vault, Tick Tick Bang was originally recorded in 1981!

I've got The Work backed up on a data disc somewhere...I'll have to dig it up and give it a listen. I LOVE the version from Graffiti Bridge...especially the sample from Jimi Hendrix's "Little Miss Lover" off of the album "Axis: Bold As Love." It's got that FAT beat and you can hear Jimi's guitar sliding into the tune right before the sample ends.
Just say "NO" to cow mucus consumption!

yes I first discovered "TTB"
on The Work... maybe a year or so ago
and I love that song

then I played Graffiti Bridge
for the first time in a long time
and heard the "TTB" on it
and realized it's a newer
version of the same song

I like the 80's version better
the drums are kickass on that track

the one from GB is hot too

"Tick Tick Bang reminds me of everything that is soulless and wrong"

Isn't it supposed to? This is the song Prince picks to fight and win his club, he picks the wrong song remember... souless and wrong.

That said, I do derive a squeal of pleasure from this version and video... it makes the bad part of me smile a great deal.

Boy, that would be nice to have. Really nice. Did I mention really nice?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It's kind of a cheesy song, but it kind of grew on me. The ending is really bad though, It's screams lame early 90s pop.

The Controversy era version is much, much better than the Graffiti Bridge one. In fact, all of the demos for the songs that ended up on GB are better

The 1981 version is best, i always liked the way Prince played with sexual acts, made them funny and what not.
