Trying to find yourself? In the video, Prince kills the 7 versions of him that wern't pure. Perhaps this is a metaphore for idenetity crisis? I don't know, but I sure like that theory more than the Apocolypse/Judgement Day theory. Makes me a bit happier.

The identity crisis theory makes a ton of sense, especially since Prince changed his identity to shortly after the song came out.

Also keep in mind that during this time Prince was deep into meditation, and there are 7 main chakras that one must get through before reaching what is called the Christ Consciousness (actually one must pass through the Christ Consciousness to reach "God" or as Prince usually refers to God as "Love"). In essence, each chakra must "fall" before one reaches higher states of consciousness.
