If Sheila isn't into guys, She's got a lot of people fooled. A few weeks ago someone posted a clip from the Ellen Degeneres Show of Sheila giving some percussion lessons to Orlando Bloom. They set up her timbales directly in front of my chair. When she came to play the chair next to me was empty cuz my homegirl had gone to the ladies' room so Sheila put her bag of sticks in the chair next to mine. I picked them up and held them in my lap when my girl came back to sit down. So Sheila is playing her booty off right in front of me then drops one of her sticks, but she's too close to us to bend over and get it herself. So she looks at me like, "Uh, can you get that for me????" She didn't even have to say a word cuz in no time I was scurrying under her timbales getting her stick and handing it back to her. Then when she's done she turns to me and I hand her the bag and she says thanks. I can die NOW! Sheila returns to play again and the band is jamming, and me and my girls are standing behind her dancing (cuz Prince said to and pointed at us and said, "Party over there!!!") I'm so close to her that I decide to sit down before I lose an eye or sumthin cuz girlfriend is going OFF!!! So she drops her stick again and we BOTH reach for the stick but this time she doesn't need my assistance and just looks at me and laughs. When she finished playing this time she turned to me and said thanks again, so I ask her if I could possibly have a stick and she places both sticks in my hands and grabs me and gives me the biggest bear hug ever. I can REALLLY die now. I'll be posting my complete review of my weekend later in the Concerts forum but I wanted to add my experience with Sheila in this thread because regardless of all the speculation she is a TRULY talented, gifted, gracious and beautiful woman with a glowing spirit that shows every time I've seen her live or had the pleasure to meet her. And I just want her to be fulfilled and happy in all facets of her life. Like I said earlier in this thread, before the shows this past weekend, Sheila is my girl for life and I love her to death!  | |

sheila was a prodigy and working session musician before prince ever took off. listen to george dukes "dukey stick" towards the end, you can hear her say a little line and refer to herself as "sheila E". Sorry Prince did not name her either. | |

I've actually never posted on here but today,I met Sheila E. at 24fitness. I couldnt believe it was her!
Anyway, she told me her, Prince and the group. The Family have been in Europe touring and now they are back working on new albums. I just wanna say she is really nice and it was a surprise seeing her there, but it was her. [Edited 4/30/07 14:05pm] | |

Great story! I met Sheila, her father and brother in December and they were so gracious. Sheila's been through a lot and her testimony will bring tears to your eyes.
