Man, the disinformation !

Prince and Shelia used to have a sexual relationship with each other and would be girlfriend/boyfriend . This was documented back on the old school ORG and in the Per Neilsen books. The people who were close to Prince stated that Shelia was very nice when she was just a band member and a bitch when she was Prince's girl. This type of relationship continued up until the fall out with Prince at the end of the Lovesexy tour. Shelia stated that Prince was singing about God but not practicing what he preached. Around the Diamonds and Pearls album they were cool again because she was with Prince at the famous Aresnio Hall performance.

It was rumored that Shelia had MS is that true or is that disinfo as well ?

Oh, so I guess it's impossible for one to be straight, then bi-sexual, then decide you like girls instead of boys. Most people grow and change in various ways over a couple of decades. As for the MS I don't know, (my sister has MS and I'd never wish that on anyone) but again if she doesn't come out and refute any rumor than I guess there's room for it to be true. So where's the "disinformation????"

Where did the MS rumor come from? I've never heard it. My dad has it, and as SCNDLS said, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But I haven't seen any evidence of it with Sheila. In fact, she seems harder working than ever. MS is relentless and cruel. Every time I've seen Sheila play, she's always done incredible work with both her hands and feet, so I would never suspect she has it.

When I saw her 3 weeks ago in Vegas she was wearing 4 inch heels the first night and even higher platform shoes the 2nd night. I don't see any sign of MS either not drumming, singing, and dancing the way she was. I have never heard this either but there was a period in the early 90s when she was really sick and suffered a collapsed lung that it took her a year to recover from and this I saw her discuss in an interview.

When I first saw the title of this thread, I imagined a "Muppet Babies"-style cartoon with members of the Revolution in baby-like form. I saw images of little Prince, Sheila E., Dr. Fink, etc. running around, but then in the second, but artistically less remarkable, second season, baby Prince leaves the playpen for another playpen with baby members of The New Power Generation, such as Tony M. and Rosie Gaines.

I know that she (again sitting a few feet in front of me) said that after the Lovesexy tour, she was talking in her home on the phone and just fell down... her ligament in one of her legs (knees?) had worn away from kickdrumming. she had to have operations and a long recovery time and decided never to be a long term drumkit sit down drummmer again because it messed up her leg.

Just say no to repeated kickdrumming!

I often wondered why she wasn't at least one of his attempts at marriage but when you see her parents together who recently celebrated 50 years together it makes sense. Yall would be surprised at what one can accomplish. Scndls...you have met my husband...would it surprise you to know he has MS? He has what is considered relapsing/remitting MS. He has "excarbations" which are bad, but then he recovers from them. Of course, each excarbation leaves a new scar on the brain (for lack of a better phrase). So, eventually it will take over his life, but at the age of 45, he lives a pretty healthy and normal life.

Wow, I didn't know that. MS is a VERY mysterious disease and impacts people in varying ways. I'm glad to hear he's coping so well, cuz he's definitely a card . My sister's not so lucky, she was diagnosed in her 30s and it's been an uphill battle all the way.

As for Sheila, I would think that with all her ministry work that she would speak about this openly if she did suffer from MS. That was her strategy in coping with the sexual abuse, creating a foundation to help children and publicly talking about the issue.

They first met back in 79 at one of P's shows from his second album. She said that she had been following his career and he asked her how much did she charge to play drums for him. She told him and he said that he would never be able to afford that.

As far as I know Sheila doesn't have MS Thank God!!but she was paralyzed for quite a while in the 90's when her back went out after playing too many hours wearing her famous high heels. that is why she saw an accupunturist to restore her spinal cord function but instead he punctured her lung and caused her to have a pneumothorax.. I have the Arsenio Hall interview that is why also she was not able to promote her album Sex cymbal.. She was bed ridden for a year.... I saw her recently and she is in top shape.. I'm sure that if she had MS she have mention it long time ago ...Whatever she does in her private life (which is very private cause no one knows nothing) that is her business if she is not into guys she must have some deep reasons... She is gorgeous, talented a great musician and as long as she is happy what is what really matters..

Nicole is Peter Micheal's baby. I saw that baby at the Escovedo house in 1985 and was told that's peto's baby.

Sheila E. used to play percussion for Lionel Richie. She was known as Sheila Escovedo then. Her father is Pete Escovedo, a much acclaimed percussionist in his own right.

This may be where Nicole became close to Sheila - and she may be her Godmother.

Sheila was present in "We Are The World", the USA for Africa song that was co-written by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson

Sheila doesn't have MS, she developed a bad back from being in the same drumming position so much. She uses a hydrolic chair now when she drums (supposed to take pressure off of her back)

They were engaged at one point, I remember Arsenio asking Sheila why they broke up and she told him to ask Prince.

Nicole is Sheila's niece from her brother Peter Michael as stated above.

Again, if this were her biological family I don't see the Escovedos just letting Lionel adopt her. They are such a close family that I'm sure her parents or sister would have stepped in to help if needed. But, hey, anything's possible I guess. . . but Nicole says he's not her father.
