Surprising Prince Fans We all that peole from all walks of life are fans of Prince, but every so often some one will declare their love for Prince and it catches me off guard. Recently I haerd an iterview with Fall Out Boy where they proclaimed themselves fans and the lead guy said he can't pick up a guitar without doing the opening riff from Kiss. Later I saw Silversun Pickups on TV saying they loved Prince and then in a recent concert they did the "is the water warm enough" speech from Computer Blue before doing Lazy Eye.
Who has shocked you guys the most by saying they were fans of the man?

I came from the supermarket a little while ago, and an older woman was wearing a teeshirt, so I walked up to her and said, "I just have to comment on your tee-shirt." She looked at me strange, so I simply said, "Kindred Spirits" and smiled. She turned around said, "He's my boy!"
I think more people like him than outwardly say. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

When I heard Teairra Mari,Princess of Rocafella declare her love 4 Prince I was like "what " I just knew she was gonna say some random rapper or whining R&B singer or the old..."Michael Jackson is just my inspiration...I love him so much" line.Lol,I mean MJ is the truth but
TeenMusic: Who are your inspirations? Teairra Mari: Prince, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Michael Jackson, SWV, Mariah Carey so, so many more, but those are the top ones. I cant find the video where she actually says it all quick and starts cheesing, its so cute. [Edited 6/4/07 17:32pm]

Macy Gray ...
they did some little interview with her and she was praising how the 'When Doves Cry' video was shot (i think she was trying to get something similar for her own vid).. Ive seen her perform twice so far on different shows and I noticed all she's wearing is purple in both shows.. [Edited 6/4/07 19:45pm]

My eight year old loves Prince. Tonight I caught her singing Purple Rain very emotionally in her bedroom while I played the Hits in my bedroom. Earlier she was dancing to Delirous which she had never heard before...So I tell her she needs to go to a Prince party and she replies "I'm not a superstar like Prince I just wish I could dance like him...

I've seen little kids get really into his music. Despite the fact that I know a lot of his dance numbers will do that, it never fails to make me go and a little

Surprising Prince Fans?
I usually find the best way is to knock on their door unexpectedly with a bunch of flowers.

I don't know what some people are thinking.Prince has been recording for almost 25 yrs.,that doesn't include the years he spent performing in small clubs before most people even heard of him.I am 59 yrs. old,and like most of my OLDER friends, have been a devout fan.In 1984 he had 2 and three generations loving his music and style. My mother would have been 88,she adored him too.So the young don't have a monopoly on Prince. It's easier for them to go to concerts, travel etc.,but we keep up with his life and his music with the same passion that we had many years ago.

I think that's FABULOUS! That's why I approached that lady in the supermarket yesterday! It was like a "U GO GIRL!" I think it's so cool when Prince pulls a "more seasoned fan" up on stage... he did that when I was in Philly during Musicology. She was with (possibly?) her daughter/granddaughter, who was ready to pounce, and he said, "No, her." She got up there and did her thing! [and some of us "young" aren't so young anymore! Haven't U noticed us bitching about the even younger fans? ] "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"
