Prince does gothic opera. Great idea that works. Sounds like it was recorded in some old cathedral by the sea. You can hear the bats slapping their wings. The lonely, haunting beauty of this touches me at the highest levels, and I get more from this song every time I hear it. That ending always puts a lump in my throat any my pants.

Though it's not one of my favorites, Solo is a powerful piece of vocal and orchestral excellence. It reminds me of the late great Marvin Gaye's "Just to Keep You Satisfied". Passion, pain, love, hate, and soul poured out over beautiful arrangements. Encore!

How is Solo filler? He cannot knock out this kind of song. He hasn't yet. The song is weird, earthy, haunting. What else do you need? Oh, I know, "it aint funky." Rolls eyes. Does everything have to be funky. Smell yo drawers then..lol

Filler, under par, artistically unadventourous or ordinary sounding musak, used to fill up gaps on an album. Commonly used by chart artists to break an album with a couple of decent singles. Often filler may be that artists interpretation of a song or genre they are not familiar with. Filler songs almost never appear on greatest hits collections and are seldom offered as a highlight of an album. (Thats what I think filler is)
