I go to the School of Audio Engineering and my first assignment is to do a mix analysis of 2 songs, one of which is Purple Rain (my choice). As part of this, I need some information. See if any of you can help me, I need:
- Engineer
- Producer
- Studio Location/Name
- Date of Recording

Any other information on this song would be a HUGE help, things like weeks in the charts, chart position etc.

I got this from the album cover:

Producer (for all of the songs on the album also): Prince
Studio Location/Name: it was recorded live at 1st Avenue
Date of Recording: Summer of '83

Not sure about Engineer, though.

Purple Rain was heavily tweaked in the studio, but the basic tracks were from the First Avenue show, using an on-site, truck-based recording "studio". I would imagine it was mixed at Sunset Sound.
