I have no more respect for Prince.[READ] JUST KIDDING!I still love my Purple Tubby =]
hehe real reason. Umm some of you may remeber I said I had a report to due on a historical figure and I wanted to do PRINCE :d. But Im stuck! eek! well this is the guideline for the report.[[ill bold what i need help with]] -You are to choose ANY historical figure or event that we have or have not covered in class that is in our textbook or any other known historical resource book and/or documents that interests you and do a research on that person. It can be someone or some significant even of Ancient World History on up to most modern contemporary history. They must be someone that has been influential or that has impacted the world in some way. Include in the paper biographical information , how they or the even influenced or strengthened and/or changes a society, country, nation, or empire ? what they did and how they shaped the world? Or how the even shaped an country, nation, empire or world ? Im pretty sure PRINCE is significant. =] But any ideas ? Your lips would make a lollipop too happy.

Prince has changed the music industry, by putting his music to his fans from his online stores, and the way other artist view their music contracts. I hope this helps a little. Love , Peace, & Always be wild

Lol, you scared me for a second there
Prince strengthened the world by giving it amazing music to listen to Prince basically reinvented the top 40 in 84 and has covered a range of genres, you could go into that.

Here you go dear: apparently, Prince is ultimately responsible for the congressional hearings on and moral debate which erupted regarding labeling records with "explicit lyrics". When i was a teenager we all regarded Tipper Gore as a rabid -i-ch for forming a group that promoted itself as our moral compass and threatened to ban some albums from 'underage' ears. It was an interesting debate and would make for an insightful retrospective of a generation facing the worst pandemic in decades /that happened to be a STD/ and an upswing in addiction / that was being told by its elders to "just say no" and music censorship would keep their kids virginal and ignorant of substance abuse. If you could pull it off, that is one way to relate Prince to shaping culture and a nation. I'm sure there is much info on the debate that started with a horrified Tipper Gore overhearing Darling Nikki on her daughter's stereo. I happen to know that there is a good Crossfire episode on utube with Frank Zappa from the hieght of that time showing how rabid and desparate parents groups were to sheild us from the likes of the Purple Rain scourge. Ol' Frank makes some very prescient observations there. You'll find the "moral majority" hasn't changed much in rhetoric over the years, but the Gores certainly wish we would forget that chapter in Tipper's life. However, we continue to have FCC rules and labels on records that survive as her legacy. It would be interesting to comment on how much those congressional seesions with pop stars cost the american people while we still have no cure or reliably accessible treatmnt for AIDS or addiction. I notice labling albums din't really save us from either of those problems. I'm interested in what you came up with as a topic meeting you critria. Good luck.
