Yes, about 12 minutes into the program, after the first commercial break, after the InStyle swimsuit shoot with Denise Richards, is the Prince 3121 extended-moving to Los Angeles news. But there is a difference. In Toledo, after the quick introduction of Prince, ET cuts to Prince live in 3121 at the Rio playing a few riffs of KISS. A half-hour later in Detroit, the video of Prince playing KISS with the Twins is missing. Instead, the talent just says the same words in front of a screen with and image of Prince. So, depending on your region, you might get a taste of Prince playing or no Prince at all and just words. That's all?  But we already knew that. I guess this wasn't for us fans. Oh well.

It was a non-announcement. They said he's in Vegas through April, then he "might" take 3121 to LA. Nothing we didn't already know. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. | |

 Why are you mad at Prince HE didn't produce the show? Entertainment Tonight is responsible for developing, reporting, and airing these "news" items not the artist. A big clue is when there's no current interview with the artist in the piece which should tell you that this is something they picked up on and decided to report. The fact that the information is SOOOOO outdated should be another clue that it was just a slow news day for them and they needed some filler. I was really hoping more for a city to city tour myself.
But as Prince fans, guess we have to settle for whatever meager pickings he gives us. However, we can't all rush over to LA now can we?

it was already announced. read the thread or... After Prince finishes 3121 in Vegas the end of this month, there are plans for him to open 3121 in Los Angeles this summer that is all folks.....  . | |

As inconvenient, time-consuming, and expensive as it's been to go to Vegas to see Prince at 3121, I'd trade in my 5 Musicology shows, even the 2 times I got on stage, for the ONE show at 3121 on March 31st AND the aftershow. And each of my visits to 3121 were more special and memorable than any one of the Musicology, Hit & Run, or Jam of the Year shows I went to, even though I thoroughly enjoyed those too.
I'm sorry, but the intimate experience at 3121 beats any tour, any day, hands down IMHO. So, I'm saving my pennies, packing my bags and I'm ready to haul my butt to LA. I hope to see those of you that are able to make it there enjoying this very unique and special experience. 
BTW, I understand the disappointment if you can't go and the desire for a real tour and everybody has a right to express themselves in that regard. But what I don't get is the straight up hating and hostility towards Prince that a lot of folks that are supposed to be fans are displaying. Seems like a big ol' contradiction to me. You ain't got to agree with his course of action but some comments seem a lil extreme, imo. | |

I couldn't read thru this whole thing, but I skimmed over. I doubt that people are really mad at Prince, but it's the buildup and let down. If no one knew of the announcement in advance, everyone would be happy the the show is extended and possibly traveling.
Anyway, does anyone know what the chances are that this will be ongoing? Like, will it at least head East at some point? I personally think this it a good thing. It's kind of selfish to expect someone to travel non-stop just to entertain. This way there's some semblance of being settled. I'm not sure if I'll make it to LA so it would be good to know if there's at least one more location in the US so I can plan for it. That info would probably appease a good number, in a couple of time zones. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify | |
